Star Wars Rebels: Lyra's P.O.V

Out of the Darkness

Hera, Sabine, and Ezra go on a mission leaving me, Kanan, Zeb, and Chopper alone. Kanan had started training me every time Ezra went out on missions and me and Kanan weren't one them with the others. Me and Kanan start training since Ezra can't do his training.

"Since you were trained by Obi Wan your training started different then how i will teach you." Kanan say as we walk out of the ship.

"I don't think that will be a problem i had trouble when training with him." I say and Kanan looks at me.

"I won't be as strict as he would be which i probably should but it'll be hard to train you like that in times like now. So today we'll focus on balance and letting go." He says as he walks up to a rock. I'd already done this part of training but didn't want to say any thing.

"This is what Ezra was having trouble with isn't is?" I ask. Kanan turns around and looks at me.

"Yes it is i want to see how far into your training you have gotten if Obi Wan wanted to take you off planet then you must be very far." Kanan say. "Get on the rock and hold your self up with your hands feet up head down." He says.

"Yes master." Is all i say. I walk over to the rock but before i reach it i do a back flip and land in the rock on my hands.

"Good now focus on letting go." Kanan says watching me.

"Letting go of what the rock? My emotions? My fears" I ask not sure what he's telling me to do.

"Focus on letting go of the rock of rising off of it let go of the rock and of gravity." He says and close my eyes and focus. "Gravity forces you down but us the force to get rid of it." Kanan says. For some time it quit and i don't know why. When i open my eye's i find out why. I'm floating three feet above the ground along with the rock i was holding and a few surrounding rocks. I lose focus and fall down to the ground.

"How was that?" I ask him as he helps me up. When i look up he's smiling.

"Great." Is all he says. "Your less doubtful then Ezra i don't know why but that helps you. If your training proceeds like this we won't have to train as often as i thought we would." Kanan says. I nod and sit down.

"Kanan can...." I stop not sure if i should ask my question.

"What is it?" He asks and i know i can trust him.

"Can our past effect our future?" I ask.

"I think your asking more then your saying." Kanan says concern on his face.

"If ones past can effect them can ones past effect another?" I ask.

"Yes it can the choice of one can effect many you of all people should know that." Kanan says looking at the symbol on my chest armor. I look down and Kanan walks closer and sits in front of me.

"I don't want to talk about it." I say knowing whats coming.

"Dwelling on the past is one way to make sure it effects you future." Kanan says. I look up and nod. He and i get up and walk back to the Ghost and see the Phantom flying to the Ghost.

"Their back." I say as we walk into the Ghost and i hear Zeb up stairs. Me and Kanan climb up the later and walk over to see Hera.

"Everybody okay?" Kanan asks.

"Yeah we're fine but i scratched the Phantom's underbelly." Hera say and sighs.

"You!" Kanan says a huge smile on his face.

"It was some what unavoidable. Once your plan went south." Hera says puting a finger under Kanan's chin and lifting his head.

"Ah there we go knew there was some way it was my falt." Kanan says and i laugh.
