"I'm really nervous, Sofia." Bella said as I braided her hair. It was the first day of school for the both of us.

"It's going to be just fine. Just be yourself, and call me or text if you need anything. I will come pick you up at the end of the day." I assured her, and tied off the braid. I planed a kiss on her hair, and we headed out of the house.

"Bye Yelena." Bella hugged the woman, and she kissed Bellas head, before moving towards me.

"Call me. I'm serious. If something happens, I want to know." She whispered. "I love you, Sofia."

"Love you too, Yelena." I smiled at her, trying to cover my nerves. "Come on, Bells. We're going to miss the bus."

We got the bus stop, and I hugged Bella as she got on. The doors opened, and Bella got in. The school bus pulled away from the curb, and speed down the road.

I walked the 15 minutes to my school, and spotted Peter and his friend by the entrance. I took a deep breath and walked over.

"Hey Parker." I smiled at his shocked expression.

"Sofia? What are you doing here?" He said quickly.

"We moved. You didn't call me after the funeral, so I couldn't contact you." I explained.

"Who is this?" His friend asked.

"Sofia Romanoff. Pleasure to meet you...?" I stuck out my hand for him to shake.

"Ned." he shook my hand. "Romanoff... are you...?" He gasped.

"Black Widows kid? Yeah. I am. Adopted, though." I hid behind a fake smile.

"Holy shit. I'm so sorry about her." Ned said sympathetically.

I waved him away. "It's fine, don't worry about it."

"Sorry, I'm still confused. I thought you were in Toronto?" Peter said, not yet over my appearance. I rolled my eyes.

"Want me to move back?"

"No!" He said quickly. "No, of course not. Do you want me to show you to your classes?"

"Sure. See you later, Ned." I waved at him, and followed Peter towards the main office.

We got my schedule, and went to my first class.

Halfway through the day, my phone started ringing, so I excused myself to the bathroom.

"Hello?" I said into the phone.

"Hey. Is this Sofia?" A voice said on the other end.

"Depends on who's asking." I leaned against the stall.

"My name is Sam Wilson. We met during the... the whole Thanos thing." He said.

"Right. Of course. How can I help you?" I replied.

"It's about Steve." I stood up quickly.

"What happened?"

"He went to put the stones back, and decided not to come back. He lived his life, Sofia." Sam took a deep breath. "But he passed. From old age."
I gasped, and slid down the wall slightly. "No..."

"Yeah. I'm really sorry to tell you all his." He sighed. "We want you to come to the funeral."

"Okay... thanks for thinking of me. I really appreciate it." I bit my lip.

"Of course. I'll send you the info. You're still in Toronto?"

"We just moved to New York."

"Great. Makes things easier. Well, I'll see you in a week, Sofia. Have a... not too shitty day."
