Chapter 3: Acticidental Treason

The next morning...

Phil and Winston headed to the dig site for today's labor. The dig site was really huge and almost deep as an abyss. A few miners died by accidental falls before and Winston was really afraid of looking down from the catwalk. Phil held onto his hand to help him to have confidence. They headed to their assigned working area and picked up some pickaxes and got started on mining the Prox out of the wall. They started to hear Rick and his friends coming laughing and talking bad about the tribe since they encountered one fox and beat it to the pulp. Phil got angry at what they said since the tribe didn't deserve any disrespect since they were nice enough to share Xena with humanity. Winston's blister started to hurt while he was mining.

"Ow..." Winston quietly said.

"You okay bud?" Phil asked.

"Yeah. My blister on my hand is acting up." Winston said as he put the pickaxe down for a minute.

    Phil examined it and noticed it looked kind of looked bad and pulled some aloe out from his backpack and started rubbing it on his blister. Just then Rick and his friends Lance and Korey walked up to them.

"What the fuck are you guys doing?! You are supposed to mine not lollygag you retards!" Rick shouted.

"Look! He just got a blister! I'm trying to help him!" Phil shouted back.

"Do I care? No! So, get back to work!" Rick shouted.

      Phil had it with his disrespect and bullying that he shouted, "Why don't you fucking take a Viagra pill you white trash bitch?"

Rick's eyes widened with rage and went at his face.

"What did you fucking say to me?" Rick asked.

   "You heard me. You are nothing but a sack of shit just because you have pride of being a captain, but you are nothing but a fucking joke."

Rick pushed Phil hard, and Lance and Korey started roughing him up.

"Hey, leave him alone!" Winston shouted.

"Shut up kid! He needs to learn about who's in charge here!" Rick shouted.

    Winston didn't hesitate and grabbed a pickaxe and swung it down in Korey's back. Korey screamed in agony while Phil pulled his knife out and stabbed Lance in the leg. As Lance fell, Phil got up and punched Rick in the face hard. Phil and Rick started fighting and Korey fell and bled to death and Lance tried to help Rick, but Winston punched him in the balls and grabbed Phil's knife and stabbed Lance in the throat. Phil tried to fight him, but Rick was a little stronger than him. Phil got back up and pushed Rick over the edge by accident.

    Rick fell down and his body splattered apart as he landed to the bottom of the dig site. All the soldiers and miners jumped and shouted as they saw Rick's body. Phil and Winston made a run out of the dig site and hurried back to the dorms to pack up and escape before anyone knew who did it.

   They ran into their rooms and started packing all their things and hurried until they heard General Vince's angered voice from the speakers.

"Attention!!!! Everyone must report to the courtyard outside immediately. Anyone who tries to leave the base will be shot!!!" General Vince shouted.

   Phil and Winston were feared since they can't be able to leave the base and if they stay longer, they will get caught. They followed everyone outside to the courtyard . And they saw General Vince at the stage and shouting at the microphone.

"Attention everyone! There was tragic news that my son and his friends were murdered! I will not tolerate on whoever murders others. But whoever killed my SON WILL GET THE DEATH PENALTY AUTOMATICALLY!!! FROM NOW ON, NO ONE WILL NEVER LEAVE THE BASE FOR ANY REASON UNTIL I FOUND OUT WHO KILLED MY SON! DISMISSED!"

      During the night, Phil and Winston see the gate heavily guarded and don't know what to do.

"What are we going to do? If we can't get out of here, they will kill us if they find out that we killed Rick." Winston asked as he was afraid.

"Don't worry, I will figure something out. Tomorrow night, we will escape. I just need a plan." Phil said.

"Okay. I hope they won't find out in the morning." Winston said.

They headed back to their dorms and the same Fox saw them again.

"Hmm..." said the fox as she ran back in the forest.
