During the day, everyone was being investigated, Phil and Winston tried to keep a low profile while General Vince and some of his lieutenants started investigating everyone around the base. During dinner, Phil and Winston planned their escape by going out by cutting through the fence behind the base with a bolt cutter they stole earlier.
"Ok, So, I was able to get the bolt cutters from the supply room, we will leave at 10pm". Phil says as he eats his steak.
"I'm really scared. Can we just leave now?" Winston said
"I understand bud but it's still daylight and we will get caught easily. I'm scared as you are. We will get out of here soon as we can." Phil says.
They headed to the dorms to make sure they had all their stuff packed and had all their clothes and some food they stole from the cafeteria to eat on their way and Phil took his sketchbook before leaving the room. It was quiet and dark after 10, and it was suspicious.
"Something is not right here." Winston said.
"I know, where is everyone?" Phil asked.
They walked outside and saw a few marines keeping watch from the guard towers and some spotlights on. Phil instructed Winston to stay behind him as they walked around the base to avoid getting caught. Then, a marine walked out of the shack for a smoke. Phil pulled Winston back from getting seen. They waited for him to look away and they walked through the open and hid behind some crates.
"How much farther?" Winston asked.
"Just through the armory." Phil said.
Phil slowly opens the door but then the alarm goes off. Winston jumped and they both made a run through the armory but Phil decided to take a magnum pistol for self defense if they needed to for escaping. A few Marines looked around to see what was going on while Phil and Winston made it to the fence and started using the bolt cutters to cut through the metal bars.
Then a Marine tackled Winston and Winston tried to fight him.
"Where do you think you are going?! You are not going anywhere!" The soldier shouted.
Phil pulled the magnum out and aimed and fired at the soldier's head. He fell and Winston broke free and helped Phil to hurry to get through the metal fence. They heard more soldiers coming at their location but fortunately Phil finished and they crawled through the hole in the fence. They heard Marines shouting and shooting their guns at them through the forest. They kept running and running till they didn't hear the soldiers anymore but it was really dark and they had trouble seeing.
"I think we lost them." Phil said.
"Good..." Winston said.
Phil took out his flashlight and walked down the path. Winston followed and was a little afraid since it's hard to see. As they looked around the same female fox came out of her hiding spot and kept quiet as they followed them.
