We Will Be Alright - A Seokrona AU

Seokhoon smiles, realizing she found the picture of a person that he once loved. He walks towards Rona, handing her a glass of water that then rests in her hands. "I don't really tell people about her, but I will today, because someone special here wants to know about her." Seokhoon began.

Rona smiles, really curious about this mysterious lady that's able to sit in a frame, in Seokhoon's apartment. She is aware, Seokhoon is secretive, he doesn't really share about his life with anyone, really anyone. He doesn't even share everything with neither Seokkyung, Seola or Hyein even though they're his siblings.

Seokhoon takes a deep breath and looks in her eyes, deeply. "She was my fiancee. She was about to be my wife when she died in a car accident that was headed to our wedding location." Seokhoon's eyes started to tear up, but he toughens up, in thoughts of his late fiancee and Rona, who was in front of him.

Shakily he continues, "Her name is Yeojoo, Do Yeojoo. She was our age and she loved to dance, she especially loved it when we waltz to 'Tornami A Vagheggiar'. She was outgoing, not scared of anything in the world except for cats because she had once got scraped in the arm."

Seokhoon smiled, he looks at Rona who looked like she realized she kind of asked the wrong question. "Don't be sorry, Yeojoo will never be mad at me for telling about her to you." Seokhoon assured.

On the other hand, Rona had thought a lot.

'He was about to be wed. He was almost someone's husband.'

That two sentences spaced her out. She was rather feeling down that she took Yeojoo's space out. Yeojoo was supposed to be by Seokhoon's side, happier than ever that she got to be married to one great eligible bachelor. She felt really sorry to both of them.

"I am sorry about lying the other day, about the dating thing. Damn I feel horrible." Rona smiles and nodded, forgiving him. Seokhoon smiles and shakes Rona up, "Now, let's pick out a song."

Flashback

"Thank you for picking me, Yeojoo-ah. I will always cherish you and I will always be by your side, I promise." Seokhoon smiles and kisses her hand. "I promise to be always good to you too, I love you Joo Seokhoon." Yeojoo finishes her sentence and puts her lips on his.

They smiled with happy tears in their eyes before the driver told them that they lost control of the car. The car screeches about 2 kilometers before hitting another car. Everything went dark for both Seokhoon and Yeojoo, blood spilling everywhere in the car, staining Yeojoo's white wedding dress and Seokhoon's white tuxedo.

Seokhoon opens his eyes, seeing a dispatcher calling his name. His eyes were heavy but despite that he asks about Yeojoo. "Where's... Yeojoo...?" He breathes out heavily, containing his pain. "Can you hear me, sir? What's your name?" The dispatcher asks him. "Joo... Seokhoon."

"Alright Seokhoon-ssi, I will pull you out first okay?" The dispatcher calls out his other teammates to the car and they all struggled to get Seokhoon out. After some time, they all slowly pulled Seokhoon out and brought him up on a stretcher.

Things got worse and the car blew up even before the dispatcher could come back and search for Yeojoo.

A few hours later.....

"Eomma, where's Yeojoo?" Seokhoon asks with tears in his eyes. Suryeon wasn't able to answer him, feeling so troubled about telling him the truth. "WHERE IS YEOJOO?!" Seokhoon brawls. "Yeojoo... she couldn't survive, honey. She died... on site." Suryeon told his son, her tears spilling along with the others in the hospital suite.

They held Yeojoo's funeral three days later after a postmortem investigation.

Flashback ended

"So, shall we start with.... Je Veux Vivre?" Rona seeks Seokhoon's opinion. Seokhoon smiles, "As the princess requests." The both gets in standby and the piano then started out really clean.

As Seokhoon plays the piano, looking at Rona singing passionately makes him feel sad.

I still remember how me and Yeojoo used to practice this song... a lot.

Flashback

"Jagiya, let's practice Je Veux Vivre today!" Yeojoo said, excited. Seokhoon ruffles the woman's hair and grinned at how his girlfriend is happy with the idea of practicing her... their favourite song.

"Standby. 3.... 2.... 1!" Seokhoon presses the keyboard and started playing. Yeojoo started to balance out herself and started to ballet dance appropriately to the song while humming to the song. Graciously, Seokhoon looked at the lady he loves in front of him. Love fills in his eyes that day.

Flashback ended

Happy memories was filled in that very studio when Yeojoo comes in. How happy they were together, the sight of Yeojoo getting stressed because of the cream flavors for their wedding cake, how Yeojoo begged Seokhoon to let her see Seokhoon's wedding suit... how he missed Yeojoo badly.

And this is such a miracle... how Rona seems to resemble Yeojoo a lot. How she resembles Yeojoo's bright energy, how Rona likes the same little things like Yeojoo used to like.

He couldn't keep in his feelings and poured his tears out. As the song comes to an end, Rona noticed Seokhoon's glassy eyes. He must be missing Yeojoo so much. she thought.

The studio came to silence and Rona decided to sit next to Seokhoon, consoling him. "I know you miss Yeojoo. I don't really care if you need a shoulder to cry on." Rona said, patting on his back.

Seokhoon, unable to say anything cried his eyes out. Slow wails comes out from the man and Rona knew, how Yeojoo's death affected Seokhoon so much. "The song... it used to be Yeojoo's favorite song." Seokhoon sniffles.

Rona nodded, indeed the song had to do with the breaking of Seokhoon at that moment. And there she knew, Seokhoon was a broken toy to be touched up. Seokhoon had his reasons to disappear in thin air whenever she came to South Korea to meet her friends.

Indeed, it was the accident that affected his life so much to the point he had to take time off from his daily life to recover both physically.... and to mentally let go of Yeojoo, forever.
