Chapter 8: Let Us Fly

For several weeks Mark has been scrutinizing how to control the shuttle. An unexpected fact is that the shuttle had awesome rocket projectiles, but it was out of order so we had to do our best to make them work properly. We also found some kidneys preserved in a water capsule. The most extraordinary find was a weird-shaped amulet, but we thought that's just a bauble so we put it in the box. When Mark completely understood how to control the shuttle, we decided to do some flying in space in order to experience the rockets on asteroids. We've taken off in space and reached maximum speed which was breathtaking. After some time the amulet started making an odd sound and twinkling with several colors. When David took the amulet, the twinkling became quicker and quicker until eventually, it blew up, and we saw the white wasteland which covered us from each side, we thought we were in heaven, but soon the amulet started showing the way to somewhere. After 30 minutes of non-stop walking, we noticed a portal. The amulet stopped sounding. As soon as we got into the portal, we could see ourselves from the past where we were stealing the diamond, we were invisible ghosts, no one could touch us and none of us could touch anyone else. When I said how we will return, a countdown from 15 seconds was activated and pictured on the other side of the amulet. "Countdown is over" a weird sound has come out of nowhere. This happened all at once that we heard our native language, instead of the language of the aliens' planet. We woke up at home, the shuttle was in the right place as always. The amulet was also in the box.
The funny thing is that Lucy was still sleeping, I didn't wanna wake her up as she was smiling. I presumed she was having a great dream, so I covered her with a woolen blanket and left. I saw Leo exercising in his room. He said I am quite slim, and he was completely right. So we did some working out for 30 minutes when I got exhausted. Leo was, trying his utmost not to show me his laugh, I couldn't even do 5 push-ups. However, then he said "practice makes perfect" and offered me to work out every day at least for an hour, I agreed. When I saw Anthony, he was creating his safe with specific locks, thinking it would help in the future.
By news, we were informed that the whole planet is celebrating its 10.000 years of existence next week. We were in shock, realizing this planet was created such a long time ago but scientists couldn't find it. "It's gonna be a colossal explosion," David said. He actually wanted to blow up the whole planet, whereas we thought he was joking. We couldn't let him do that. So instead of this, we agreed that we will block the way of aliens to our planet as soon as we are going to be leaving. Everyone accepted.
