(YUGI is playing a game at his desk. Bell rings for lunch)
STUDENT 1: (OFF STAGE) It's lunch time! Let's play Basketball!
STUDENT 2: (OFF STAGE) We'll let the girls play too.
(Enter STUDENT 3)
STUDENT 3: Hey Yugi! Quit playing games by yourself and come play Basketball for once.
(YUGI looks up from his game)
YUGI: That's okay. My team would just lose.
STUDENT 3: Yeah, that's true. See you in a bit!
(STUDENT 3 exits. YUGI finishes his game)
YUGI: (SIGHS) I wish I could play my kind of games with someone. I always bring a lot in my bookbag, but – (GASPS) I know! I'll finish that today! The puzzle I always carry around!
(YUGI grabs his bookbag, and gets out a gold box. He then sets it on the desk)
YUGI: (LOOKS AT AUDIENCE) My greatest treasure is in this box, but you have to keep it a secret! This riddle is a hint! It's something you can see, but have never seen it before! What do you think it is? (PICKS UP BOX) The answer is –
(Enter HONDA and JOUNOUCHI. HONDA snatches the box out of YUGI'S hands before he can open it)
YUGI: Hey!
HONDA: Heh heh. What are you talking to yourself about, Yugi? You win the prize for creepy. "Something you see, but have never seen before?! Your greatest treasure?!"
YUGI: Give it back, Honda!
HONDA: Looky!
YUGI: Give it back!
HONDA: Pass! Jounouchi!
YUGI: Hey! Be careful with that!
(HONDA throws the box to JOUNOUCHI, who catches it)
JOUNOUCHI: Geez! Only a girl would care about a box. Watching you makes me sick! It really pisses me off!! So you know, Yugi, I'm going to teach you how to be a man! You want this box back? Then give me all you got!
YUGI: (ANGRY) I hate fighting!
JOUNOUCHI: (COVERS EARS) Ow! Shut up! You got no guts.
YUGI: Anyway, please give it back.
HONDA: No way!
JOUNOUCHI: What's in here anyway? Let's take a peek.
YUGI: You can look, but don't lose anything! It's really important to me!
(JOUNOUCHI opens the box, and takes out a piece of what's in the box before closing it up)
JOUNOUCHI: How dumb. Here Honda.
(Enter ANZU. JOUNOUCHI throws the box to HONDA, but ANZU catches it)
ANZU: If you think it's dumb, then give it back to Yugi!
JOUNOUCHI & HONDA: Mazaki!
YUGI: Anzu! Nice catch!
ANZU: (LOOKS AT Yugi) Thanks, Yugi. (TURNS TO Jounouchi AND Honda) Bullies who pick on little kids are what's dumb! Get out of here!
HONDA: Damn meddling girl! (EXITS BY RUNNING)
JOUNOUCHI: I'll get you back! Don't you forget! (EXITS BY RUNNING)
(ANZU sets the box on the desk)
ANZU: Here you go, Yugi. It's something special, right?
YUGI: Thank you, Anzu.
ANZU: No problem, Yugi.
YUGI: Wow, Anzu. One word from you and they ran away!
ANZU: Their heads swell if you don't knock them down once in a while. You need to be tougher, Yugi. All the guys are like that. On the Basketball court, I thought the guys were passing to the girls a lot, then I found out that they were peeking when the girls made their shots! (GROWLS ANGRILY) The jerks! (SIGHS) I quit and came in. Never play Basketball in a skirt!
YUGI: (DREAMLY) Basketball. Good.
ANZU: What are you thinking? (LOOKS AT BOX) By the way, Yugi, what is this?
YUGI: That's right! You haven't seen this yet, Anzu. If you promise to keep it a secret, I'll show you.
ANZU: Okay.
(YUGI opens the box to show a gold puzzle)
YUGI: Here it is!
ANZU: (AMAZED) Wow! It's pretty! Sparkling gold! Are these pieces of something? It's all broken up.
YUGI: It's a puzzle! I've never finished it, so I don't know what it looks like. So it's "something you see, but have never seen before"! My family runs a game store, so we sell unusual games from around the world. Years ago I found this way back on a shelf covered with dust, so I took it for myself. This puzzle is a memento of my grandpa, so I like it especially well.
ANZU: Really? A memento?
YUGI: Yup.
AZNU: I see. That really does make it special.
YUGI: They say this puzzle was found in an Egyptian ruin!
ANZU: Egypt huh?
YUGI: See? There's these hieroglyphs carved around the box. I bet they say something like this, "The one who solves this puzzle shall be granted one wish." You know what I mean? Like the Dragon Balls! Haha! Maybe I'm dreaming. (SIGHS, LOOKS AT Anzu) Are you laughing at me? That look. I've only told you, Anzu. Don't tell on me. This is a secret.
ANZU: I get it, Yugi! Trust me!
YUGI: But this puzzle is major hard. I've been working on it for eight years and I've never solved it! Kind of depressing.
ANZU: Don't give up, Yugi! Your heart is in it!
YUGI: Yup! I'll do my best!
ANZU: So, what is it? Your wish?
YUGI: No way! That is absolutely positively secret! Super top secret! Vacuumed sealed for eternal storage!
ANZU: Oh. Okay.
(Bell rings. YUGI and ANZU exit. Fade to Black)
