(YAMI YUGI is at a picnic table in the shadows)
USHIO: (OFF STAGE) I can't believe that Yugi called me out! And to the school at Midnight. Damn!
(Enter USHIO)
USHIO: Huh?
(Light shines, and YAMI YUGI is now out of the shadows)
USHIO: (GASPS) Yugi!
YAMI YUGI: Thanks for coming, Ushio.
USHIO: Well, I gotta hand it to you! I can tell you're going to be a good boy and give me the money like I asked. Don't like that weird costume, but that's okay! Hand it over now! The cash! The money! 200,000 yen!
(YAMI YUGI gets out the envelope full of money, and pulls out 400,000 yen)
YAMI YUGI: It's right here. And I raised it to 400,000.
USHIO: 400,000 yen?!
YAMI YUGI: But with this much money, it wouldn't be fun to just hand it over, so how about you play a game with me?
USHIO: Huh? A game?
YAMI YUGI: Yes. But it's not just an ordinary game. It's a Shadow Game. How about it? If you win, you'll get more than 200,000 yen. Not bad, huh?
USHIO: It sounds interesting.
YAMI YUGI: We need only one tool to play this game. That knife you have hidden, Ushio!
USHIO: (GETS OUT KNIFE) Here you go. (HANDS KNIFE TO Yami Yugi)
YAMI YUGI: (TAKES KNIFE) Thank you. (SETS MONEY AND KNIFE ON TABLE) Okay. Everything is prepared.
USHIO: What kind of game are we going to play with money and a knife?
YAMI YUGI: This game is called "Money Stabbed". It's a simple game that was once played in Egypt, and here are the rules. Two players take turns placing the money onto the top of their left hand and stabbing it with the knife. When the money has been stabbed, the player keeps all the money that's on the knife, and he must take more than one bill. The game is over when all the money has been stabbed. The one who wins is the one who has the most money. Now if one of the players try to take the money by hand, or quit in the middle of the game, that player loses and he must give up all the money that he collected to the winner. Doesn't that sound interesting?
USHIO: Heh. It's just a test of courage.
YAMI YUGI: But if the rules are broken, the one who is the loser gets a Penalty Game as punishment.
USHIO: Ooh. That's an interesting twist. Then let's get started.
(YAMI YUGI and USHIO sit down at the picnic table)
YAMI YUGI: We'll Ro-Sham-Bo to see who goes first.
(YAMI YUGI plays Paper, and USHIO plays Rock)
YAMI YUGI: Then I'll start.
USHIO: Damn.
(YAMI YUGI puts the money onto his left hand, grabs the knife, and stabs the money)
YAMI YUGI: Phew! (COUNTS MONEY ON KNIFE) I didn't even get ten bills. I thought I'd put my strength into it, but they're not easy to stab. (PASSES KNIFE TO Ushio) Okay. It's your turn!
(USHIO takes the knife, and puts the money onto his left hand)
USHIO: Tch.
YAMI YUGI: If you use too much strength, you'll stab yourself. The point of the game is to control your greed!
USHIO: Shut your trap! (STABS MONEY) Heh heh heh! Look! I got over 100,000 yen! Man, I should've stabbed harder!
YAMI YUGI: Not bad! But it gets harder to control your strength with each turn. Heh heh heh.
(YAMI YUGI puts the money onto his left hand, and stabs it with the knife)
YAMI YUGI: There's not that much money left. That means the game is almost over. (PASSES KNIFE TO Ushio) Your turn.
(USHIO puts the rest of the money onto his left hand, and takes the knife)
USHIO: This game is mine!
(USHIO tries to stab the money, but is unable to)
USHIO: I - can't - stab it!
YAMI YUGI: It looks like your greed has caught up to you, Ushio. Will you spare your left hand to get the money, or stab both the money and your hand?
USHIO: Heh heh heh heh! The answer is simple! There is a way I can take a stab, without hurting my left hand and getting all the money! (LOOKS AT Yami Yugi) You let me hold this knife! That's why you lose! Die Yugi!!!
(USHIO tries to stab YAMI YUGI, but YAMI YUGI dodges the attack. A gold eye appears on YAMI YUGI'S forehead)
YAMI YUGI: Just as I thought. You weren't able to follow the rules after all!
USHIO: What the--? Your forehead! That eye!
YAMI YUGI: This is what happens when you "trespass in my soul"! Like those who hurt my friends and try to steal my money! (POINTS AT Ushio) Penalty Game!! Greed!! The illusion of avarice!!
(USHIO'S head starts to hurt, then he looks around)
USHIO: Money. Oh my god! It's money! Money! Money! There's money everywhere! This is great! Money!
YAMI YUGI: They say that money can make your head spin, but now the only thing in your head is the illusion of avarice! For as greedy as you are, this might be a happy end for you. Heh heh heh. And I've got all my money back. (LOOKS AT WATCH) I better get home. (LOOKS AT Ushio) Later, Ushio.
(YAMI YUGI exits. Fade to Black)
