The House of Gaunt

Chapter 20

"Mum, dad?" Maxi says as he opens the door.

"Kids! Come in." Dad says and Maxi immediately goes in. "There is no way I'm going in there." I say under my breath.

"Come on, princess." Matt says and goes in. Michael turns to me. "I am too mad at them, I won't go in either."

"We should go get an apple or something." I say and he nods his head. "Oh, come on, you stupid people." Matt yells. He never yells at me, the hell is wrong with him?

Michael and I have no other choice but to go in. "We have a lot of explaining to do." Oh yes, please! Do go on about how you ignored us for weeks.

Mom continues talking. "Celeste, mads owl, has been dropping off your letters to the wrong Gaunt manor." We're the only Gaunts here.

"What do you mean, mum? You and dad told us his family isn't present, they disowned him." Matt says.

"I haven't been completely honest with you all. I was disowned, but my mother gave me the choice to be accepted again. I did not take it, they used to torture me. But I did keep track on them, they moved back to America. To the old manor I used to live in. Remember I told you, we moved to England so I could go to Hogwarts?" He asks and the four of us nod our heads.

"Well," he continues, "I don't know how, but your letters were going there. And now that my family knows I'm alive, they want to meet you. And reconnect with me. Your mother and I had to go take care of everything, my sister got in touch with me. They're coming here, and they'll be staying in our home."

All right, that's a good reason. "It's fine, we forgive you." Matt says. "We do." Maxi adds. We?!

"We missed you so much, please let's catch up." Mom says.

We all caught up and I relaxed more. We talked for more than an hour! I missed them so much, more than I would like to admit. I guess I am a bit spoiled in a way. But at least I'm not a brat like Draco and Pansy.

"Alright kids, again we're very sorry, don't forget you'll take a week off Hogwarts in two weeks. Your dad's family is very happy to meet you all!" My mum says.

"Of course, we won't forget. Oh! Right! Did you find out the babies' gender?" Matt asks. I completely forgot about the new twins!

"Well, I actually told my doctor I want it to be a surprise!" She says. A surprise? A surprise. Is she joking? How are we going to prepare! What if we don't know how to decorate their room! What if they are a girl and a boy? Or two girls?

I suppose we all had funny faces on since my dad says, "I tried to convince her to find out, but this woman is too stubborn!" We all burst out laughing.

My Mother hits my dad playfully on his arm "I am not stubborn!" She says with a smile. Yeah...right.

"Yeah, right! Madelyn had to get it from somebody!" Michael says. This isn't funny anymore. "I am not stubborn, Michael, you are."

"Yes, you are!" He continues. "I'm not!"

"Yes!"

"No!"

"Yes."

"No!" I accidentally yell. Whoops.

"Okay, fine, you're not!"

"Thank you!"

"You're welcome!"

"Fine."

"Fine!" He echoes.

"Shut up!" I yell at him.

"You shut up." He yells at me.

"Michael, Madelyn, that's enough!" My dad says. "Merlin, I'm getting a headache." My mom says.

"He started!"

"No, I didn't!" Michael defends himself. "Yes. You did." I get closer and shove a finger on his chest.

"Okay, kids, stop it already, we have to go! Get back to classes, your father and I will be back in two weeks to pick you up."

"Really!? You are going to meet your dad's family?" Ivy asks surprised. She knows the situation with my dad's side, only her and well, the idiot platinum blond and obnoxious boy.

"Yup. Believe me, I was surprised too. I'm not even sure I want to meet them, in my mind they're monsters!"

"In my mind too, Maddie! I wish I could come; it would be better." Ivy has a heart of gold, I'm so glad to have her as my cousin and best friend.

"Aw, you're so nice Ivy, but you would fall behind on all of our classes; trust me, you don't want that. I don't want that!"

"You both are annoying." I hear the obnoxious boy say. It's a shame he's here too. We're currently in the Hogwarts library, Maximiliano went to get books, but I think he hasn't found them.

"Then leave." I snap. "That would make you happy, wouldn't it?" He asks.

"Very!" I tell him. "Then no." He slyly says. Rookie mistake of mine. "You are obnoxious, have I told you?"

"Only once or twice...a day." He says with a smirk and his cute dimple is revealed. Cute? No, no, no, no, Draco doesn't have a cute anything, the hell am I thinking. Why is he still smirking at me? Yeah no, I've gotta go.

I clear my throat. "Anyway, since we're done. I'm going to go get something quick to eat and I'm gonna...I'm gonna head to my dorm. Yeah, that. Bye." I say as I gather my things and rush out.

I was thinking about that awkard thing when I clash with something and fall.

"Madelyn, I'm so sorry, are you alright?" Or rather...someone.
