Today is the day we go home for Christmas Break. I missed my parents and the manor so much. I put on my uniform and went to Maxi's dorm to annoy him as always. I kicked the bathroom door open to scare him.

"GOOD MORNING M-

I immediately stopped as I saw that the boys were there. Everyone started laughing.

"Bloody hell Madelyn." Theo said. "Does she always do that?" he turned to Maxi. "Almost every day, mate."

I scoffed. "It's sisterly love!" "As if." My brother retorted. "Well, what is this? Did you have a sleepover?" I teasingly asked.

"We did actually."

"BLAISE!" All the boys yelled at the same time. I snorted. "Why are you so embarrassed about a sleepover?" I hear Maxi's door open and see my oldest brother and a disgusting blonde. Matt was wearing his uniform and Malfoy was wearing pj's.

"Gaunt."

"Malfoy."

The tension in the air grew a little, I feel bad for making my friends uncomfortable, but it's Malfoy's fault! He was mean since day one.

"Good morning princess." Said Matt and I smiled at him. "Boys. Did you have a sleepover?"

They all groaned. Matt and I laughed. "What is it with the Gaunts and questioning everything?" Said Theo.

"What?" Matt asked with a confused face. "I asked them the same thing and they are very embarrassed by it."

Matt laughed. "Boys you should start packing, we leave Hogwarts soon."

"Fine." I heard them all mumble. "Princess do you want to grab breakfast?"

"Of course." I said with a smile.

It had been a while since I had breakfast with Matt, we used to do it every day at home, it was like tradition. He has been very busy with quidditch, prefect duties, and preparing for his N.E.W.T's. We walked together into the Great Hall and sat at the Slytherin table, which was surprisingly empty.

"Waffles, right?", asked me Matt. "As always." "Merlin's beard! How can you still choose waffles over pancakes?"

"The question is how can you not choose waffles, Matt." He laughed.

"So," he began.

"OH MY GOSH!" I yelled. "Oops sorry. You have a new girlfriend!"

"What? How did you know!?"

"Matt you always start your conversations about a girl with that funny tone." I told him with a smile.

"Oh! I hadn't noticed that. Well anyways, she's in my year. And she's the best person I've ever met."

"I'm so happy Matt! What's her name!?"

"Rose Shacklebolt. She's in Hufflepuff. She's very smart and kind, obviously. She has beautiful dark skin and curly black hair. Oh! And her eyes look brown, but they actually have a little green in them." I listened to Matt talk about Rose for ten minutes straight. I think he's in love honestly, his eyes light up as he adds yet another detail about her.

"She sounds great, Matt! When will I meet her!?"

"Oh well, she's actually coming here right about now."

"What!?" I didn't even have time to react when I heard someone speak up.

"Hello, Matty." I turn around to see Rose. She's even more beautiful than what Matt told me. "Rose! I'm so glad to see you. You look pretty as always!" I cleared my throat so Matt can finally introduce us.
