Once Kathy got off of the phone with Adam, she couldn't stop smiling. Maybe she really liked that he was willing to babysit Brody? I don't know.
"Hey, I'm going to bring Maya into the house and Ryan is going to watch her and Brody now that the appt. is done she is going to need some rest. You stay in here we need to stop at the pet store, okay?" Kathy said, with the smile still on her face.
"Why? We don't have any pets."
"I want to look at a goldfish for Maya!" So, that's why she was smiling!
"Oh. Okay, let's get her a pink fish, not a goldfish! She loves pink!" I said when she got back in the car. I was smiling too now! But when we got inside Kathy walked right past the fish and the fish stuff. I followed her thinking that she just wanted to look around the store or something. She went back to the puppy section!
"Awhh! They're so cute! Look at this one, Kathy! He has patches! How adorable!" I was a sucker for puppies, sadly! Then Adam walked out.
"Well, then he is yours." What was he talking about? Mine. That's why Kathy was so smiley and that's why he called her! He was getting me a puppy!
"Adam, you're the best!" I ran into his arms!
"I'm going to go look at fish stuff now, I still want to get a fish for Maya. I will get a pink one, don't worry! I was thinking about getting Brody a blue one too!"
"Sounds good! I will meet up with you after I get some dog stuff." Then Adam and I picked up the puppy, I already knew his name.
"Hi baby! You're going to be named Patches!" a perfect fit for the perfect dog! After that Adam and I walked around the store to get the dog food. We also picked up a cute dog bed that had paw prints on it and a cute baby blue collar. I was so excited. My life was getting better, I could finally put my past behind me. After finishing up with Adam we found Kathy.
"Hey Kathy, can we go to the hardware store and get some paint for my room?" I asked.
"Yeah! Of course! You're going to want to get that room done before Maya has to be admitted."
"Great! I think I will paint it green and blue? Those are cheerful colors, right?" I asked, kinda confused.
"Haha! Yes! You're new to this whole color thing, aren't you?" She said with a huge smile on her face.
"Yeah kinda!" I admitted.
After we checked out we headed to the hardware store and got a bright green and a bright blue. We also got paint brushes and other painting stuff! I was so excited! I can't wait to do this with Maya and Brody. Finally we were heading home to get started on my room. Over the week I had packed everything up so we should be able to start today!
"Maya! Brody! I hope you're ready to paint!!" I yelled as soon as we got in the front door, Kathy just laughed. I decided to make this a family project so Kathy and Ryan are going to help us too! After 30 minutes of getting ready we started painting.
