"He asked me for my number." George suddenly announced later that night while him and Karl laying in bed.
He heard a rustle in the dark from the other side of the room.

"He whaaaat?" Karl stretched out the last word.

George put his head in his hands, "Yeah, I said no." Karl could barely hear Georges muffled voice.

"Oh George! Why would you say no?"

He was tired, annoyed, and conflicted. So George didn't answer.
Karl knew why, yet he still asked, and that pissed George off.

He went to bed without another word.

. . .

Undoubtedly, George is hella good at math. Out of pure choice, he signed up for the class calculus III in his sophomore year.
No, he didn't need the credits.
No, there was no reason for him to take that class as a computer science major.

But he did. And he loves it.

George sat in the classroom, albeit a little early, that is if 30 minutes counted as a "little"
He sat his backpack down and took out his phone. He isn't normally this early for class, but he had nothing else to do. And watching Karl sleep peacefully made him jealous.
Karl didn't have a class at 8am today like George did.

While mindlessly scrolling through instagram, he heard the chair next to him squeak. He looked up to be face to face with a classmate.
A student he didn't recognize at first, until he started talking.

"Hey!"

Alex Quackity. You'd know that voice from anywhere, everybody knew him, and if you didn't.. well i don't know i guess u live under a rock or something
He was friends with everyone on campus, at least it seemed that way.

"Hello." George responded, nodding back down to his phone.

Alex started tapping his fingers on the table, "Looks like it's just you and me buddy."

George furrowed his eyebrows at what he had just called him.
"Buddy?" George breathed out a laugh.

Alex smiled, "Nah," he looked around, "listen I need a small favor."

No answer from George told him continue, "You have the notes from yesterday?

George raised his eyebrows, "What?"

"Look man," Alex shifted in his seat, "I'm so fucking stressed about goddamn law midterms. I slept through my morning classes yesterday." He sighed.

Although uncalled for, George couldn't help but laugh.
"Why the fuck are you studying law, and taking calc three," he breathed, looking up at him, "you know you don't need it right?"

Alex dismissed him with a hand, "Yes, yes I know. I'm already fucking here, the semesters almost over. I'm not leaving now."

Both started to laugh now, at his stupidity and embarrassment. Without another word George bent over to get papers out of his backpack. He slid them over to Alex.

He gladly took them, "Thanks, George."

George nodded in response, but Alex kept talking.

"You know Karl right?" He asked.

"Yes, I'm his roommate."

"Right right," George saw Alex quickly scan over the notes, widening his eyes with a worried look, then discarding the papers back on the table with his hand, "Heard he's got a boyfriend now. Nick right?"

George hated when people talked to him about Karl's new boyfriend. Karl wasn't even that popular on campus, sure he was basically the best soccer player here, but nonetheless still annoying.
He smiled to be nice, and nodded.
