It's been four days since the last encounter, and 8 days since that first fateful day they met.
Clay had been doing fairly good with forgetting about him. He's pride himself over that.

He thought today would be the same, but someone had other plans.

.

Ratatouille played at full volume on Karl's laptop. Both Nick and Karl sat on one bed, legs intertwined. Watching movies and cuddling was something they did often once college got too stressful. They enjoyed these moments together.

25 minutes in, Nick reaches over to the keyboard and hits pause.
"Hey I forgot to ask, where's George?" He set his hand on Karl's.

Karl hummed, "He went to study for midterms in the library because he's been putting it off all semester." Nick laughed in response as he unpaused the movie. Karl's hand shot up as soon as Nick went to rest his hand on Karl's like before. He paused the movie again quickly.

"Wouldn't it be funny," Karl started while slightly sitting up, "if we did a little scheme?"

Nick smiled, "A little trolling?"

Karl nodded and grabbed his phone off his desk.

"What do you have in mind?" Nick asked, sitting up.

"Well," Karl fully sat up facing Nick, "you've seen how George and Dream act around each other right?" he questioned.

Nick nodded, "I think I know where you're going with this." They both smiled with a cunning look in their eyes.

With the movie put off to the side, the couple go right into hatching their plan.
Nick immediately calls Clay.

"Hey man, can you stop by the library to pick up a book for me?"

"A book?"

"Yeah, I need the copy of the algebra textbook."

"Why cant you just get it yourself-"

"Please Clay, I'm with Karl."

"Alright, fine." He hung up.

The main point of this scheme is that George and Clay are clueless.
George doesn't know Clays going to be there, vice versa.

Not too soon after calling Clay, the couple settled back down in their first comfy position. Karl started reaching for the space bar before giggling.
His hand faltered, "Dream seems like the dogged type of person."

Nick huffed, "What the fuck does dogged mean?"

"He's persistent."

Clay walked in with one thing on his mind, quickly go in to get the book then get out. He was pretty busy with coding a certain something before Nick had called.
He didn't have time to dilly dally.

That was until he saw George. He was sitting peacefully at a table, face first in a book.

Clay, unintentionally, stopped in his tracks. He stayed watching George from across the library.

Not in a creepy way. He stilled thinking about what his next move should be.
Should he walk up to him? Walk away? He feels walking away will cause the least amount of problems. But on the other hand, he missed the familiar accent.

Clay steadily began walking in Georges direction, mindful of where Georges eyes stayed.
He almost lost his balance once he saw those brown eyes look up at him.

George gave a surprised, yet almost disgusted face. That didn't stop Clays determined walk.

Although it did piss him off.
"What's up? Seriously." Clay huffed as he sat down in the chair next to George.

George looked back down to his book, "What? Are you following me around now?"

"What!" Clay shouted, a little too loud being in a library, "No- no what?" He continued, quieting down.

"Okay, stalker." George quipped.

"Nick asked me to grab a book for him, that's all."

"Why would he need a book right now? He's with Karl." George asked still staring in his book, but not reading.

"I-" Clay stammered, "I don't know?"

"Plus," George sat up in his chair, "why would you go to this one? There's a library way closer to your shiternity." He looked over.

They shared a quick glance, Clay being the one to break it.
"Uh, Nick asked me to go to this one."

George scoffed, "They all have the same books."
He returned to his reading without another word.

Clay took that as his cue to leave. Walking over was a mistake, he immediately thought.

In a horrible mood, Clay walked up and down the book shelves trying to find Nicks stupid book. He couldn't find it. Not that it was a big deal, Nick probably didn't even need the damn book.

There's no reason why he asked me, Clay thought.

He grabbed a random ass book on the shelf, checked it out, and then walked to the door. If he walked out without a book, George would think it was his idea to go to the library.
He didn't need that to happen. He also didn't need to look back at George before walking out, but he did just that.
