Lev intended to make good on his declared goal from the first practice (dating Yaku), so the next day at the end of practice, he asked him out.

Lev was quick to warm up to everyone, even Yamamoto was becoming less suspicious of him by the minute. Something about him complimented the Nekoma team very well, even if he could be a brat at times, and slightly insensitive.

Lev was racing Inuoka and Yamamoto to see who could clean up the fastest. Lev was at a slight disadvantage as he was still learning the system, but he was trying his best. Everyone else acted annoyed at their antics, but were secretly grateful that they didn't have to do more work.

After cleaning up and getting their stuff, the teammates started regrouping together, Lev hanging back with the other first-years again. They offered quick words of encouragement, reassurances to each other about having done well, too tired to do much else. Except Lev.

"I'll be right back guys, I'm gonna go ask Yaku-san out." He informed them. Inuoka nodded in understanding.

"No problem, see you–wait WHAT–" It was only then that he actually processed Lev's words, turning to look at Teshiro and Shibayama to make sure he hadn't misheard. They peered back at him in shock, confirming he hadn't heard incorrectly.

"Wait!" Inuoka said, moving towards Lev, but it was too late. The other first-year had already made it to Yaku and stopped just short of him. Inuoka, Shibayama, and Teshira all looked on in horror and fear, torn between staying and watching this disaster play out or getting the heck out of there before their senpai went ballistic.

"Ne, Yaku-san!" Lev called, waving to Yaku. Yaku had been walking out with Kuroo and Kai but hung back when the other called him. Kuroo and Kai looked at each other, deciding to walk a few paces but hang back so Yaku could catch up with them.

"What is it Lev?" Yaku asked with a heavy sigh. It had been a long practice, and he didn't have the energy to deal with Lev any further. He could only imagine what the first-year wanted to say to him.

"Would you go out on a date with me, Yaku-san?" Lev asked innocently. Yaku blinked. Lev waited expectantly. Several people who had heard around them spit out their water, including Kuroo and Yamamoto.

"What did you say?" Yaku asked with a frown, positive Lev did not just say what he thought he did, because there was just no way.

"I said, would you go out on a date with me Yaku-san?" Lev repeated, a bit more firmly and loudly, causing more people to gawk in surprise. That time Yaku also heard it for sure, and a moment later he was kicking Lev and yelling at him about what kind of sick joke he was playing.

"No, I'm serious Yaku-san!" Lev whined, taking the hits as best he could. Yaku eased up a bit, but only slightly.

"Oh yeah? Why would you ask me out, you've known me for all of a day," Yaku gritted out, feeling mortified as he knew many of his teammates were watching. Truth be told, no one had ever asked him out, so the first time someone did being a joke didn't sit very well with him, never mind that it was a guy.

"Because you're really confident and hardworking and you give great advice and you're not afraid to say what you're thinking and I think you're really attractive and–" Yaku was blushing furiously as his hits subsided, realizing that perhaps this wasn't a joke and was a serious confession.

Lev paused and looked up at Yaku hopefully when he stopped hitting him. "So! Will you go out with me?" He asked again. Yaku narrowed his eyes at the younger. What kind of first-year who just joined a day ago asks his upperclassman out???

"No." He said harshly. Because you're a boy. That's what Yaku wanted to say. He found himself saying instead, "Because I just met you–and I'm too old for you anyway."

Lev shot Yaku a grin that sent shivers down his spine. He got up and dusted himself off. "Alright, I understand. I'll ask another time." Before Yaku had the chance to respond, Lev had already returned to the first-years. Yaku was standing there for a good thirty seconds after, vaguely hearing, "Oh my god, I cannot believe you just did that!!!" in the background.

"Yaku. Yaku–Yaku? You coming?" Kuroo asked. Yaku spun around and saw Kuroo patiently waiting with the others. He frowned and readjusted the straps of his bag before going on.

"Of course I am," he scoffed, pushing everything that had just happened far from his mind. He had other things to deal with than some weird first-year.
