"Wake up marmots! Breakfast is ready!" Seokjin shouts through the house, hitting a pot with a spoon. "Everyone who isn't down in ten minutes won't get any steamed rice cake. I even bought strawberries and bananas." He knows that this should wake them up in no time.

A few minutes later, the first person appears in the living room, hair standing up in different directions, a pillow pattern decorating his face. "Hyung, you're so loud."

"Hobi, where's Jimin?" With a judging glare, Seokjin pokes him with the spoon.

Hoseok groans, annoyed, the things he does for a steamed rice cake… "He's in the bathroom, getting ready. Now give me my cake, hyung." He tries to outsmart Seokjin by pretending to walk past him from his left, then switching to the right. Unfortunately the older man saw it coming and that's why he's met with a broad chest instead. "Shit." He murmurs under his breath.

"You thought, bro." With his signature laugh, Seokjin goes back to the kitchen where the cakes are waiting to be served, while hitting the pot repeatedly.

Poor Yoongi, who came one minute late, had to wait until everyone else had chosen their favorite. They're all peacefully sitting on the table, munching on their food.

"I made a schedule for today." Hoseok announces, causing the others to groan, all except for Seokjin, who's excited.

"Why can't we just chill and then exchange the gifts. By the way, we haven't drawn names yet." Jeongguk says matter-of-factly.

Jimin shakes his head. "That's always only happening right before the event begins. Why don't you know that? It's the same every year, Guk."

"Oh, right. Must have slipped my mind because it's too fucking early in the morning to function properly." Jeongguk glares at Seokjin, who sticks out his tongue. "Ugh, so annoying."

"Who did you call annoying, kid? We went to bed early because you all knew that we would wake up at six in the morning, not evening." They had agreed on the rules. Seokjin doesn't accept this slander.

"Guys, stop arguing. Can we just eat and then go over to the next part?" Hoseok doesn't show it, but he's as excited as their oldest friend. After practicing the paper hiding and slipping trick for hours, he can't wait to use it.

"Hyung, the rice cakes are delicious. Thank you so much for making them." Taehyung tries his best to lighten up the mood. It's not good to fight on Christmas Eve. He meant it though, they're the best he ever ate.

"I'm glad you like them. Take one more." Seokjin waits until a banana rice cake disappears in Taehyung's mouth, followed by a hum and satisfied smiles at him.

Cleaning up is always a group task. They forget about the moody morning and begin to joke around, tease each other and also get some work done.
