Alec Lightwood hated Wednesdays.

He had to spend hours at the Institute before coming home. And usually, Magnus wasn't there. But today, he was sitting on their couch- drinking.

"Magnus? Why are you here already?" he asked his boyfriend cautiously, Magnus could run away with the amount of alcohol he consumed at times.

"Alexander dear, I could ask you the same question" he giggled. Next to him were two empty bottles.

"Magnus, you're drunk."

"Am I? God, I love Wednesdays. I can't remember ever drinking on Wednesdays! But you would drink if you would have been what I've been through!"

Alec sighed internally. He loved Magnus, but sometime it was really challenging having an ageless and drunk warlock around.

"What have you done, Magnus?"

"A few pretty Faeries came in and I just had to-"

Alec felt like ramming his head into a wall.

"Magnus? Can you explain yourself?" he asked quietly.

*****

"You have a daughter?! Magnus, why didn't you fucking tell me that you have a daughter?!"
Magnus sighed internally. He had thought that it would be easier to tell Alec about Ana after shocking him first with the amounts of alcohol he had consumed. He had learned that from a psychologist. In 1954. Maybe that advice was a little- outdated.

"Look Alec, about 150 years ago we- went different ways. I heard nothing from her for almost 2 centuries. And to be honest, I didn't want to. Pride had separated us. Then, when I met you, I rethought everything that I had ever done. I reconsidered searching for her, but I soon gave up.

Then, when we became more- serious in our relationship, I sent two of my friends to find her. And then, it turned out that she had been living in Brooklyn all this time. I came to her and asked her to meet you. Friday. I'm throwing a party. I just want her to see how everyone can coexist peacefully. I want one night to be enough for her to turn back to her old ways. Ana has locked herself away for too long. And it's my fault. All my fault."

Magnus tried not to cry. It had been his fault. He had taken everything from Ana.

Alec tried to make his voice as steady as possible as he sat next to Magnus a few hours later.

"So you're say that you don't want her to "accept her heritage" again? And we have to bring a Shadowhunter you don't know and they're supposed to make her stay?"

"Long story, she has decent history with your kind and I'm hoping she'll remember. I sent a fire message this morning. But no context. They don't know about Ana"

Alec closed his eyes.

"Magnus, I really don't know if this is a smart decision. I mean, she probably won't be thrilled at the prospect of falling back into her old ways again"

"Well, we'll see how it goes on Friday then won't we?"

*******

"And one last thing Alexander"

Alec turned his face to Magnus in the darkness.

"What is it?"

"I would like you to meet Ana before Friday"

"But that's-"

"tomorrow, yeah I know"

Alec turned his face up to the ceiling

He hated Wednesdays
