"Ana! Come back! What is this?!"
Magnus came to a halt before his daughter outside the Ferrymore Hall. It had belonged to Alcheé Ferrymore, a "friend" of his. Magnus would have never asked his lot for anything, if Ana hadn't been...

He had left his boyfriend, his boyfriend's family, and a concerningly clumsy and incapable Shadowhunter with over a hundred Warlocks, Vampires and Werewolves.

Ana turned around and her eyes shone gold with anger. Something that had only happened once before- and it had ended in 150 years of silence.

"What else do you want to destroy? What have these people done to you? They don't have eternity to forgive each other. To be a family again. And you broke them!"
"Ana, don't be ridiculous. That boy brought it upon himself, I didn't break them! And you know that, you just want something as an excuse to be angry at me!""

He face hardened as she breathed heavily, her eyes shining brighter every second. "Don't try lying to me. Not again. Never again! Now don't stand there telling yourself that you didn't ruin their lives!"

"They'll get over it. I know Clarissa Fairchild better than you do! She would have only brought ruin to the family"

"You can't control everything, Magnus. That's what you can never understand"

"This isn't about control, this is about reason"

"Reason?! You lost all reason 150 years ago. maybe even earlier. You are so used to controlling everything in your path, everything! You put up a perfect façade, destroy or cover up the ugly bits. You raised me like that, dependent on my power. But after what you did to Aster, I lay down everything. I stopped lying, I did everything by hand. These people would have figured something out themselves, would have evolved and learned from their mistakes. But you can't do that. Because control and power and lies is all you will ever know."
"When did I ever, in 500 years, raise a hand against you, lie to you?!"
"When were you going to tell me, who my father is? My actual father? And I know it's not Asmodeus."
"It was for your own safety. If people would have found out-"
"And that's exactly what I mean. You don't trust me enough to tell me my father's name! You have that information for yourself. As long as you are in control, no one knows."

Magnus looked at his daughter.

"I think it's about time that you leave." he said quietly

"I think it's about time you leave."

Magnus felt a rush of air. He spun around, too late to stop himself from being shoved through a hole in the air. He seemed to fall through space and time, trying desperately to hold on to something, trying to get hold of someone's mind to stabilize himself.

Suddenly, a horrible thought crossed his mind. But Ana couldn't have, not by herself. Unless...

Lies, it echoed around him. So Ana had planned this. And her father had given the strength to do it. There was no other explanation. Powerful as his daughter was, she couldn't have done this by herself.

He closed his eyes
