It was an accident. I was at school when they found me. I was called to the office and when I opened the door, two men wearing orange suits walked over to me. "Are you Sam Everdeen?" One of the men asked me.
"Yes sir," I replied. "Am I in trouble?" I was standing just inside the doorway, very confused.
"That is a question that our boss with answer when He sees fit." The other man answer roughly.
The first man motioned for me to follow him. They can't take me off school grounds against my will can they? I wondered. Just as I finished that thought the principal walked out of his office, "who are you two and where are you taking this student?" Mr. Mendoza asked irritatedly.
The second man showed him a badge, " we are here to take this child into our custody and we do not have to answer any questions you or any other individuals ask us."
Mr. Mendoza looked from me and back to the two men. "Sam? Do you know these men? Where are they planning to take you?"
"I-I don't know sir. They won't tell me anything. What's happening sir?" I asked quietly
"Don't worry young man, I'm going to get Mr. Jameson to call the police." Mr. Mendoza answer kindly, motioning to Mr. Jameson, the secretary.
Mr.Jameson immediately picked up the phone and dialed 911. "Hi this is the secretary of Millbrooke Highschool, Mr.Jameson. There are two men here wearing orange suits trying to take one of our students. The student does not know who they are or where they are planning to take him. The men will not answer any questions that the principal has asked them. Please send someone down here to help us clear this up. Thank you." With that, the secretary hung up the phone.
And now we wait. I thought to myself. The men looked at each other both furious at the situation, but sat down in the waiting room chairs. " I already told you that we do not have to answer any of your questions." Man number one said angrily.
"You may not have to answer my questions, but I'm sure you'll answer the police unless you want to end up in jail for attempted kidnapping." Mr. Mendoza replied with a sarcastic smile.
