"Ah.. for crying out loud." Jack groaned out in pain as he exhaled loudly. "Yea.. this is gonna take a minute." He opened his eyes and tried to look around, but it was completely dark. So he clicked on the flashlight on his P-90 still connected to his vest and got up.

"Teal'c, Daniel?.. Carter?" The light illuminated some of the dark room, but it seemed ongoing and filled with crates. He found the Stargate about 15 meters from where he was, which means he was thrown out the wormhole with quite some force.

"Carter?!" he whispered harshly.

The quiet surrounding him was beginning to worry him. He still hasn't found his team. So he pressed the button on his radio instead and heard the crackling of a radio a bit further away. He moved towards the sound and aimed the light towards it. And there he found her lying on the ground.

He quickly got next to Sam in a crouched position and called out her name again. But when she still didn't react, a shot of ice cold fear coursed through his body. He checked her pulse and felt an immediate sense of relief replacing the fear. "Sam, come on!" He nudged her shoulder a bit and finally she stirred back to consciousness. "Major?" he then said calling her by her military rank composing himself once again.

"Colonel?.... what happened?" she breathes out, looking around trying to get her barrings.

"Well, Carter.. Not gonna lie, I was kinda hoping you would tell me." He takes a another look around, pointing the flashlight on his P-90 around the room before focusing back on Sam. "How are you feeling?"

"Uh... kinda like I've been thrown out of a wormhole... again." she answered a little groggy.

"Yeah, I have a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore... again." he said as she slowly sat up grabbing hold of her shoulder in pain. "Hang on." Noticing that, he took hold of her good arm, helping her to a standing position and patted off the dust on her jacket for a second before clearing his throat and looking away.

"Daniel and Teal'c?" Sam asked.

He shook his head. "No, I'm guessing, or hoping really, they made it back to the SGC. There's no sign of them here."

"I agree. That blast of energy happened long after they got through already."
As soon as she got up she turned on the flashlight of her P-90 as well and started searching for a Dial Home Device. "Sir, have you seen a DHD?"

"Nope, needed to find you first." That made Sam look at him for a moment. Jack however smoothly looked away from her. It's not like she could see his face with it being so dark anyway, but still. "Let's take a look around, shall we?"

They were sure they had searched the place by now. Thus far they've come to the conclusion that they must be in some sort of warehouse because they were surrounded by crates, crates which were conveniently labelled with what was inside them. Now, understanding that different worlds would have different names for a DHD they went looking for an office or a computer that would hold the warehouse manifest.

"So.. what are we looking for again?" Jack asked rummaging through a cabinet.

"We are looking for an entry that could mean the Stargate, sir. I'm guessing that if we find that, the DHD won't be far off."

"Right." he said taking another gander through the office. "No light?" he asked.

"Would that really be wise, sir? The lights on our P-90's alone could attract unwanted attention."

"You mean with all this attention we attracted to ourselves by crashing into this place?" he said a little peevish.

"I'm just saying."

"I know." He frowned, took a deep breath and turned around on his heels. "Did you find anything?" Clearly he was trying not to act out any more to Sam because it wasn't her fault they were in this mess in first place. If anything it's the Goa'ulds fault.

"No, nothing. I've been over this manifest twice already. No mentioning of anything resembling the Stargate or a DHD."

"Okay.." He said trying to sound upbeat. "I've heard enough. I saw an exit back there. Let's head out, maybe find some friendlies to ask about the Stargate?"

"Sir, judging by how the gate on this planet is, by all means, packed away, it's likely the people out there have no idea what a Stargate is. Let alone seen people like us."

"People like us? You mean.. aliens.. Carter?" he said in a playful way, raising his eyebrow comically.

Sam laughed and smiled widely as she closed the manifest on the desk in front of her. "For all intents and purposes.. yes, sir." She looked up and caught the colonel staring at her. "I think for now it would be best to find some civilian clothes and maybe try to blend in. I mean, we have no way of knowing what we are getting ourselves into." Jack nodded his okay and Sam continued. "Judging by the pictures in this office, this world seems similar to the mid 1950's on Earth."

"Ah yes.. what's not to love about the 50's eh?" He said walking back to where he saw the exit with Sam in his tow, "Nice motorcycles. Leather jackets... Hell, you could still leave your doors unlocked at night."

"Since when did you start locking your doors?" Sam said laughing, causing Jack to turn around and shine the flashlight in between them so that she could his eyes squinting at the remark. "... sir." she quickly added after clearing her throat, but unable to hide her smirk.

"No Simpsons though." he veered off before resuming their way toward the exit. He started to frown, "Do you think they'd have The Simpsons on other planets?"

Sam couldn't control the smile that followed his rhetorical question. Thank god she was walking behind him.
