Well, Sam was right. The planet they were on resembled 1950's Earth. They had made it out of the warehouse and snatched some civilian clothes off a wash line without anyone noticing them, hid their gear and P-90's but holding on to their service pistols and concealing those underneath their clothes.

For now the situation was under control. They knew the SGC would be hard at work trying to find them. Sam was sure they'd figured out by now, as she did, what had happened to them and that it was just a matter of time before they searched the trajectory of nearby planets with Stargates in between P3X-854 and Earth. But that wouldn't stop them from finding a way back themselves though.

Main thing was to find a DHD, without it their chances on getting back home by themselves were slim in the events the SGC failed to locate them.
So the plan was to gather information about the warehouse. Find the owner and perhaps that'll get them one step closer to going home.

They walked into the town square surrounded by trees and little shops across the streets where they sat down on a bench observing their surroundings. The town was buzzing with cars driving around and people walking about. Thankfully no one seemed to notice them, so that was a good sign. Another good sign was a lack of hostiles. No Goa'uld so it seemed. It looked to be a peaceful society so far.

"So I'm just gonna go ahead and ask... how do we know the gate didn't just go all Back to the Future on our asses...ts?"

Carter cleared her troath trying to hide her smile after O'Neills obvious attempt to keep things light. "Well.. you see, sir, the Stargate uses space-time to create a wormhole that allows us to travel across great distances, but it doesn't take you back in time, nor will it send us to an alternate reality." Sam explained as she spotted the confusion on O'Neill's face. "Just.. in case you were wondering about alternate realities too, sir."

"...Did ya take a look around, Carter? The resemblance is uncanny!"

"I know, sir. But it's not possible. Ever since that first occurrence I have upgraded our systems with safeguards preventing exactly this. Plus we closely monitor all solar flair activity. It hasn't happened since and there's no reason to believe it would again."

O'Neill processed the information which quite frankly made his head hurt. He sighed and rubbed his face with his hands, "Forget I asked." Suddenly he gets up from the bench. "Excuse me, ma'am," stopping a pedestrian walking by. "Do you by any chance know who the owner of the warehouse outside of town is?"

"Why, the warehouse is owned by our Father." she answered apprehensively and a little on guard.

"Ah yes... Father. How could I forget." He said with his charming smirk. "And where can we find this.. Father?"

"He is everywhere, of course." she said making a gesture of something grand with her arms.

"Yes... of course.." He looked sheepishly at Carter for moment, "How could  I forget." O'Neill said making the same gesture as the woman did with his arms, but somewhat comically. "Thank you."

"You are most welcome, stranger. Have a blessed day."

"And a great day to you." he said back wittily like he usually does and thereby coming across somewhat sarcastic before the now somewhat suspicious woman walked away from them.

He turned back to a grinning Sam still sitting on the bench. "What..? Too much?" Sam just gave him a quasi smile in return. "Okay, so.. time to find this Father figure I suppose. I say we head over into that diner over there and give it a try." Sam nodded and they went on their way. "Can't get much weirder than this." he mumbled under his breath.

As they were about to cross the road to enter the diner, two military vehicles, which looked like Jeeps, screeched around the corner right passed them. Clearly the Jeeps were headed for the warehouse. Carter and O'Neill gave each other a look knowing that they needed to be more careful now to avoid any more suspicion.

Before they walked in, Sam stopped him by his jacket. "You know what, sir? Maybe it's best if I do the talking this time? In the spirits of trying to keep a low profile and all." To which Jack reluctantly but understandably nodded his okay.

Back at Stargate Command, SG-7, the team sent by General Hammond to P3X-854 in order to run their diagnostics on the gate and the DHD there, just returned none the wiser. They had no idea where to look for them. But they did come to the conclusion that the energy blast that hit the gate prior to SG-1's disappearance was unlike anything they had seen, judging by how their instruments picked up on the high level of energy traces left behind.
General Hammond ordered their return soon after in trepidation of that same weapon striking again.

However Daniel and Teal'c, joined by SG-3's Colonel Reynolds and Lieutenant Johnson, were returning from their already 4th off-world mission in search of their missing teammates. The disappointment was evident on Daniel's face who immediately ran up to the control room.

"We didn't find them." he exhaled loudly, "Dial the next planet."

"I can't just dial the Stargate, Dr. Jackson. You have to debrief first."

"I just did. Listen, we're running out of time. Just dial the gate and brief the general for me."

"Doctor?" Due to the commotion General Hammond decided to come downstairs. "I was in the middle of debriefing SG-7,"

"Oh! SG-7? Yes." Daniel interrupted the general, "Do they have a possible gate address?"

"Judging by your question I take it you haven't found them yet?"

"No, that's why we have to keep on searching. Do you have a gate address?"

"I'm sorry, doctor. SG-7 returned empty handed."

"What? No, they must've made a mistake or, or, or overlooked something. You have to send them back!"

"There's no use, son. We've done all we can on P3X-854. Now, I know you are as eager as I am to get SG-1 back safely, but there's nothing more I can do at this time. I've already sent every available SG-team to the remaining planets in search for them right now."

"So now what?... What, we just wait? Is that it?" He stared at the general. "With all due respect, sir. There must be more we can do?" Daniel still stared, almost dumbfounded now.

"Daniel Jackson," Teal'c had now joined them in the control room overhearing the conversation. "General Hammond, I would like permission for myself and Daniel Jackson to travel to Chulak in order to contact my old mentor, Master Bra'tac. He has contacts with Jaffa amongst the ranks of Ba'al whom loyal to our cause. They could hold information on the weapon fired on P3X-854. Perhaps by understanding the weapon we will gain more knowledge on the whereabouts of both Colonel O'Neill and Major Carter."

The general nods. "Very well. Teal'c, Daniel, you have my permission. Take Colonel Reynolds and Lieutenant Johnson with you as back-up. Good luck." He then turns to Walter,

"Dial the gate, sergeant."
