Qualifying was just over and Olivia strolled alone over the paddock. The qualifying session went well for her brother and got him P2. Francesco Bagnaia got pole position and Jorge Martin would start from the third place. She had watched the session in the Yamaha garage with Tom, which she absolutely loved. She felt so proud of her little brother. She had also noticed that Marc would start from fifth place on the screens. Olivia was still buzzing from all the action and adrenaline from earlier as suddenly a scooter appeared next to her.
'Hi, you.' A very familiar voice spoke to the girl. Olivia stopped in her tracks as she saw an orange-colored scooter stopping next to her with Marc on it, still in his race suit. She had to tell herself to not start to stare at him, cause he looked way too handsome.
'Hello, Marc.' She smiled at him, a little surprised that he had stopped to talk to her. She was sure that he had other obligations, just like her brother did. 'Happy with the fifth position for tomorrow?'
'Second row is not that bad, but I had preferred to be on the first row of course.' Marc grinned. He was happy to hear that she remembered his qualifying session result. 'Enjoyed the session?' Marc asked, remembering her telling him that it had been a while since she went to a race the other night at the Red Bull event.
'I did! It was amazing to see you all ride those bikes. It's just crazy how fast they are.' Olivia was still surprised by how fast the bikes were in real life. In just a blink of an eye, they were gone already.
'Where were you watching from?' Marc asked waiting for her to answer his question as suddenly Fabio popped up. Olivia stood there awkwardly as Fabio puts his arm around the girl in front of Marc. Marc frowned, was he starting to have an interest in Fabio's new girlfriend?
'Well done with P2!' Olivia said to her brother. Olivia let out a little sigh, of course her brother would show up if she was talking to someone from the opposite gender.
'Thanks!' Fabio smiled at Olivia as he turned to the former World Champion on the scooter.
'Marc, I see that you have already met my sister.' Fabio was a bit surprised to see his fellow rider talking with his sister in the middle of the paddock.
'Your sister?' Marc was confused at first, but when he saw the two of them standing next to each other he could see some similarities between the two siblings. Marc knew that Fabio had a sister, but he never actually saw her. He suddenly remembered Fabio telling him once that she couldn't visit much due to some commitments at home. He was just glad that she wasn't his girlfriend, so there may be still a chance for him.
'Yes! I'm the older one though.' Olivia said while grinning at her brother.
'So, you know each other or what?' Fabio was still confused about how to two of them seemed to know each other. He couldn't recall the two of them meeting before.
'We met yesterday at that Red Bull party. Mathilde went to get us some drinks and then Marc introduced himself to me.' Olivia explained to her brother. Marc nodded at Olivia's answer.
'That's nice! It seems like she didn't scare you away.' Fabio playfully said to Marc which made the girl blush. Olivia was a little surprised that Fabio didn't already dragged her away from Marc, like he usually did with other guys.
'I think I have to go!' Fabio noticed Tom further down the paddock waving his arm to let him he should come to the press conference for the top three of today's session. Fabio looked at his sister one more time, she looked a little different and he couldn't place what it exactly was.
'See you later, man.' Fabio said to Marc and waved to Olivia before quickly walking towards his best friend for some work duties.
'I'm sorry for my brother. He can be annoying sometimes.' Olivia said, still blushing a little. Why did Fabio had to make that comment about her scaring all the boys away? She didn't wanted to look like a weirdo in front of Marc.
'Don't worry. I know how brothers can be.. I have one too who can be really annoying sometimes. So I assume you watched from the Yahama garage then?' Marc asked, still not having an answer to his question from earlier.
'Yes, I did! From my brother's garage.' Olivia answered his question.
'Such a shame that you didn't watched from my garage. I wouldn't mind having such a beautiful woman waiting for me.' Marc winked at her. Olivia immediately turned a little red. Was he now seriously flirting with her? She knew that it was probably better to ignore him and walk away but there was just something about him that made her wanna stay this time and to learn more about him.
'I will see you around, Olivia Quartararo.' Marc said and pulled her in a brief hug. He felt the girl tensing up a bit as he held her, so he quickly let go of her.
'Sorry, I might shouldn't have done that.' Marc said as he saw that she felt a bit uncomfortable.
'Oh, don't worry!' Olivia said a bit awkwardly. She had not expected a hug from him and didn't know how to react to that. She had not expected any physical interaction at all from him. The truth was that she didn't know how to react to a guy's touch, because of the scars of her past.
Marc felt like there was something more about Olivia than she would let go of. At that moment he made a promise to himself to find out what that something was. At that same moment, Olivia was being left alone in her thoughts about why that rider kept haunting her.
