My name is Chase and I'm 17 and living on my own.
Most people would think I'm pretty advanced for my age to be taking on my own place, job, and school work at Seventeen. In some ways you'd be right; But when you hear the reason why I'm on my own, you'll probably think differently.

So one night I invited my friend Jason over so we could study for our end-of-semester test. We were in my room with my door shut because my little brother and sisters were making distracting noise downstairs. Studying was going well, until the most unlikeliest thing happened : He leaned over and kissed me! Right On the lips. My mind was racing. I never been kissed by a boy before, but I had to make a decision quick. I pulled his face closer to mine and just at that spark flying moment,my father walked in my room to ask if we wanted anything to eat. I pulled away from him,my heart dropped. My father obviously didn't approve of his son locking lips with another male. He immediately demanded Jason to exit our house and to never make any contact with me again. Those words hit me deep. Never make any contact. There is no way in hell that I would be okay with never seeing Jason again, that one kiss changed me. As for me,my dad told me that there was already three girls in our household and there wouldn't be another one. He threatened to kick me out of the house but my mom talked some sense into him.
I could stay only if I agreed to stay away from Jason. So I did agree to stay away from him. During school we would meet up in between classes,go out to grab a quick lunch meal together. We grew close. I agreed to stay away from him,I didn't promise I would though. I guess having good luck is not for me. When Jason and I decided to be daredevils,we established that he would walk me halfway to my house since his bus's stop marked the halfway point from my house and our school. Him and I were walking hip to hip hand in hand when in a twist of events,my father left work early because my younger brother had to be picked up from preschool earlier than usual because he caught a cold. Unfortunately,he spotted us before we spotted him. When we did,it was much too late. He had already gripped me by my ear and forced me into the car, swearing with his southern accent so strong I could barely make out anything he was saying. My eyes got teary as my dad forced his foot on the gas pedal and sped off, leaving my love standing there stunned in the cold. He sped down the street and to our house. He told me I had 5 minutes to pack my personal belongings and get the hell out of his house and that I was no more a part of his family. So that's what I did. I grabbed my suitcase and filled it with my clothes toothbrush, toothpaste, washcloth and all my other personal hygiene items. I picked up my change bank that was about the same size as my leg, stuffing it into my suitcase praying it has a liveable amout of cash in it. I was on my way,I didn't know where or how but I was on my way. So now you know a little bit about me. Jason and I? Well I quickly found out that he isn't a big fan on "low down,no money, bitch ass niggas who can't do shit for him" as he quoted it.
