The fight continued, tiring out Amanda more and more each second. This was a lot for her to just jump into without any recent training. But she fought long and hard.Currently, most of the avengers were in the forest protecting vision meanwhile Amanda held off the incoming aliens the best she could. "I can't do this all day." She said to herself as she grew more and more tired.
It was like the gods answered her in a way, all of the aliens just dropping dead. But what really confused her was the pieces of dust falling to the ground.
She realized that she was all alone on the main battlefield now, not a soul in sight. Something must've happened, but all Amanda wanted to do was lay down.
So she did. Right where she stood in the grass. Her back laid flat against the ground, her arms beneath her head as a cushion. Her body ached in pain as she finally relaxed, the feeling being relieving and a little painful.
"M? M where are you?!" A worried voice called as she heard running.
Amanda put an arm in the air showing where she was, hoping that whoever was running wouldn't step on her.
Suddenly, the dung light was blocked from her face as her father knelt down beside her. He looked worried, putting a hand on her head to make sure she was alive. "What are you doing? Are you ok?" He asked, helping her up off the ground.
The red headed girl grew confused, but nodded her head. "I mean.. I think so." She said, looking around. "Where is everyone."
"Thanos snapped." Thor said as he angrily stomped past. "And he killed my brother right in front of my eyes."
Amanda sighed. "Did you forget that your brother dearest killed me?" She said.
Thor stopped in his tracks, slowly turning around to face the girl. "That was my brother! The only one who I had while growing up and he's gone!" He yelled.
The anger in Thor's voice scared Amanda, the girl jumping back and flinching. She could tell he immediately regretted yelling, but he still continued to walk ahead to the quinjet to leave.
Amanda looked around confused. "Everyone's gone.. dad how am I gonna-"
"Your coming home." Steve said, giving Amanda a hug. "It's time to come home."
Natasha approached the two with a smile, putting her hand on Steve's back. "Thank god your ok." She said, walking with them to the quinjet.
Amanda smiled lightly, happy that they decided to bring the big quinjet with them that had a small med room with a bed in it. "Is anyone hurt?" She asked.
Everyone shook their heads.
"Ok.. I'm going to sleep."
"So we don't see or hear from you for two years and the first thing you do is sleep?" Thor asked jokingly.
But Amanda ignored him, shutting the door and laying on the bed.
-
"What did she do there for those two years anyways?" Rhodey asked, being one of the few surviving avengers from wakanda. "I mean, she had a phone here right?"
Nat sighed, adjusting the green vest she had on, putting her phone into one of the many useful pockets. "Did Tony not tell you what happened in Siberia?"
Rhodey nodded. "Well no.. but I heard that apparently Steve almost killed him." He said, "but that had nothing to do with her."
Steve shook his head. "So he left out the entire part about almost killing her?" He asked. "He held her by the throat and flew into the air, then just dropped her. She didn't wake up till almost a month later."
Rhodey sat in shock. "Tony did that?" He asked. He's know Tony since they were teenagers, but he never thought Tony would hurt a kid like that. Especially one he's known since she was born.
"She's been here healing and going to therapy." Natasha added. "Tony really screwed up her whole perspective of the real world. She thinks everyone's after her to kill her."
Bruce sighed. "She doesn't trust anyone." He said quietly, peeking over to the small med room where there was a clear view of Amanda sleeping. "So she's been here, meaning that she hasn't been training or using her power?" He asked.
Steve nodded. "She wouldn't even leave the room unless it was for her therapy or for school."
"So today.. she went out there not knowing if she could even handle the fight?" He asked. "No wonder she's tired."
"So let me get this straight." The raccoon, rocket, said. "That girl is your kid, and you left her here alone to recover?"
Natasha sighed, looking at the raccoon. "Well when you put it like that you make us sound like the bad guys." She said. "But we were also on the run, so taking her along wouldn't help."
She looked back at her daughter for a moment, letting out another sigh. "I spoke to Clint the other day.. he said he got a hold of her on the phone." Nat said. "He told me she sounded like she was upset but also panicked."
-
When the quinjet landed at the compound, Steve decided to carry Amanda inside and brought her right to her room so she could sleep. Meanwhile, nat stood outside in the phone with Clint.
She could hear the sadness and fear in his voice as he spoke.
"I was grabbing Lila's arrows then they were all gone! Nat where the hell is my family?!" He panicked. "My god, I can't do anything right."
"Clint relax." She said through the phone. "We lost almost everyone too."
"What about Amanda? Is she at least ok?" He asked. Amanda was like a fourth kid to him, losing her would mess him up even more.
"She's- alive." Nat said. "She's just asked right now, the fight used a lot of energy that she didn't even have to begin with."
Clint sighed into the phone. "You let her fight?" He asked.
"She tried to be discrete but they spotted her and attacked so she had no choice but to continue." She said. "Steve just laid her down in her room to sleep, there's no sign of Tony yet either which is good and bad."
Clint nodded. "Them two seeing each other again this soon will only make everything worse." He said. "Especially if you leave him and Steve alone in a room. Someone wouldn't make it out alive."
Natasha nodded her head as well, peeking behind her into the open room of the compound. "Clint I'll talk to you later alright, be good." She said, hanging up the phone.
-
Waking up the next day, Amanda felt stronger. The comfortable mattress of her old bedroom helped relieve her pain as she slept.
"Good morning miss Rogers." A female voice said.I'm Friday, a personal assistant designed by ton-"
Amanda cut the robot off, throwing the hardest object in reach at the speaker. She didn't want to hear anything from any of Tony's creations, her only exception being Pepper.
"Hey Mandy." Natasha said, opening the door to her daughters bedroom. "How do you feel."
Natasha climbed up to where Amanda was, handing her a fresh cup of coffee. "I was doing great till whatever this Friday thing is started talking." She said. "God- next time I see Tony I'm going to kill him."
"Easy there tiger." Her mother laughed, handing her a notebook that was on the little table beneath the loft. "I found this, looks like it was left here for you to see."
Amanda hesitantly took the notebook, reading what the cover said. 'Property of Peter Parker'. "This- this is peters. Why was it in here?"
Natasha shrugged her shoulders at the girl, standing up and climbing down from the bed. "Bruce said that your too weak to do anything to active right now so keep yourself busy with that book."
