"I don't know what I'm even supposed to say" I said to Thalia as we walked home from the Library on Saturday
"Well, it's been a week, are you saying nothing has happened between you both? You seemed pretty close at the bonfire" She said nudging me, I chuckled lightly
"It's just he's all nice and sweet around everyone but the second we're alone he wants to be the furthest away from me" I explained and she looked at me a little confused
"That doesn't sound like Kyle" She said as we got to her house
"I don't know" i replied making her sigh and nod
"See you Tuesday?" I asked and Thalia quickly nodded before heading inside
It's our 3 day weekend, I'd been looking forward to this a lot more then I would usually until Last week when Michelle cancelled her visit

As soon as I got into my road, I could see James working on his car as usual. Piper was on the garden playing probably because James was grounded and had to babysit. He got caught last weekend sneaking out and to say his mother was not happy would be an understatement
"Hey Riley!" Piper said waving to me causing James to be alerted to my presence
"Hey P" I said waving back, P was the nickname I had developed for Piper after her demanded I gave her a special one
"No lover boy?" James asked leaning against his car
"No mouth attachment?" I asked and he chuckled
"Cute Ri" He said throwing his rag over his shoulder
"Oh yeah. That cute blonde of yours is home" he said making me look at him confused before looking at my house
"What?" I asked
"The one for the photos? she's in your house" He repeated
I looked at him in disbelief before calling Michelle

"Hello" Her voice said as I got over to my front door
"Please tell me my neighbour wasn't lying" I said opening the door
"What?" I hear her say twice meaning she was behind the door
"Michelle!" I yelled pulling her into a hug the second I got into the house
The smile on her face was making it clear that this was supposed to be a surprise. James ruining it or not. It was still a shock
"I can't believe you are here!" I said jumping up and down with her
"I'm here until Monday morning!" She smiled
"Oh my god" i said hugging her again

"So your telling me that in the month and half you've been here you got yourself a boyfriend and a weird flirty thing with the boy next door?" Michelle said in awe as she laid on her stomach on my bed
"Well for starters, I wouldn't say boyfriend and James lives across the road not next door" I replied earning a pillow thrown at my head
"Riley, what is going on with you" She laughed and I shrugged
"I don't have a fucking clue if I'm honest" I said laughing with her as I threw the pillow back her
"I'm gonna use the washroom real quick" she said making me nod as she left

I got up from my desk and sat at the window seat looking out to see James still working on his car, Piper was nowhere to be seen but by the looks of the other cars nearby, James' parents were home
Someone tell me why I'm still watching him
Before I could do anything like look away, I heard my phone vibrate from the desk
I got up off the window seat heading in that direction to have a look at it.

I scoffed a little seeing his name appear, I don't know how he got my number but at the same time, I probably didn't want to know
As I walked back over to the window, I couldn't help but check to see if he was looking up here
Part of me knew he would be but another part of me had a suspicion he wouldn't be 

But of course, I should listen to my gut instinct. He was indeed looking directly at me with that same usual smirk on his face while he leant against the hood of his car
"You okay?" I hear Michelle ask as she came back into the room. I was quick to lock my phone turning to her with a smile
"Of course" i said taking a seat on my bed with her shortly following
