Riley

"It's pretty simple really" James said picking up another rock somehow managing to make it skip several times over the water
"Yes I see that but every time I do it, it just sinks" I laughed taking another rock and trying to copy his trick but one again. It doesn't work
"Come here" He laughed picking up a rock and coming over to me
James handed me the rock and gently held the hand that was holding it to
"now pull back a little" He said placing his other hand on my waist while still holding the other one
"Now skim" he said flicking my hand forward. I watched as the rock did as I had been trying to for the last hour
"How the hell" I said turning to face James before noticing his hand still on my waist
"Magic" he said wiggling his eyebrows

We continued our walk around the lake, it was a pretty big lake I must add
"you know, you never told me why" I said to James making him hum in response as we continued to walk
"why what?" He asked
"Why you don't do girlfriends" i replied making him chuckle
"Seems like Beth would be a good start for one?" I offered and he shook his head
"I don't do them because I'd rather be single when the right girl comes a long I guess" He said making me smile a little
"Okay two follow up questions" I replied making him nod
"How on earth do you expect to find the right girl if your lips are constantly attached to someone else's" I asked making him laugh again
"You know, you make a good point there Riley" he said nudging me
"And your second one?" He asked
"What if the right girl passes you by because you don't do girlfriends?" I then asked making him look at me with a smile on his face

"I believe that when you meet the one. There is something inside you that just whispers to you" He said
"She's the one" he whispered with the same smile on his face
"And if it doesn't then I let the girl go" He said and I nodded
"So when is it your letting Beth go?" I teased
"I think Beth and I have never truly been on. But if it makes any difference. It ends Monday" He said nudging me, I smiled too myself biting the inside of my cheek as we continued the walk

"What ever happened between you and Mr football?" James asked as we got to the docks, we took a seat with our feet dangling into the water
"Who?" I asked
"Kyle" James reminded me
"Oh that" I replied playing with my fingers
"Yeah that" he teased making me nudge him
"I don't know. I took a chance and I shouldn't have?" I asked and James looked at me knowing there was more to that story
"Like imagine someone being so fake and loved up around people but the second your alone. It's all shut off" I explained
"It's like he was trying to prove something to someone you know?" I asked swinging my legs against the water
"Sounds like a dick" James muttered under his breath
"Your one to talk Mr I'm stringing Beth along" I teased
"Touché" He replied laughing

After some time, James and I decided to finish the walk and try to attempt to find the car. We'd been gone most of the day
"Look" James said placing both hands on my waist stopping me, I turned to look where he was looking only to see 3 men playing instruments while people danced around them or stood there listening
"Oh no no no" I said attempting to move away but it was no use
"come on Riiii" He teased pulling me into the direction until we were eventually there in front of them
James took a hold of my waist and then held my hand with other hand and began to salsa dance with me
"where did you learn this?" I chuckled as we move pretty fast paced
"I have a few tricks up my sleeve" He laughed dipping me
"Clearly" I smiled as he spun me around before lifting me slightly

"That was amazing" I said hugging James as we finished a little breathless. We pulled away and he smiled looking down at me until there was a tap on his shoulder
"Una rosa para ti amor" the man said hanging James a pink rose
I looked at James who smiled at the man nodding before he left us
"It's for you" He smiled
"what did he say?" I asked
"Maybe someone should brush up on their spanish" He smirked handing me the rose
I rolled my eyes at him as we began walking again
