My Little Bugaboo

Chapter 7

Cat Noir put Marinette down and looked at Luka. God, looking at Luka made his blood boil. He ran without even thinking of protecting Marinette. He looked at Marinette seeing her frown. "Where's Adrien?" She asked quietly. "We haven't seen him." Alya said as Nino looked around for his best friend. 

Cat Noir pat her shoulder. "Ill find him and send him your way, don't worry." He smiled. Marinette smiled a bit and nodded. "Thank you." She replied. "Baby! Are you ok?" Luka asked and hugged her. Marinette hugged back and nodded. "I'm alright." She giggled a little and looked at him. Luka smiled and kissed her. Marinette blushed as she returned the kiss. 

Cat Noir glared and shook his head. If he was really worried he wouldn't have ditched her, leaving her in the middle of danger to get hurt. He left and hid in a alley way. The suit vanished with a green light. Adrien leaned on the wall and watched as Plagg flew into his sight. "I sense some jealousy!" The kwami smiled and looked at Adrien. "I'm not jealous Plagg! I'm mad. If he loves her so much then why just leave her there like that!" He huffed and looked at the ground. 

Plagg frowned. "Look kid. I get that you care about her and your mad, but she doesn't seem to mind that he ran. Their both safe and shes happy." Plagg reminded him and looked at his holder. Adrien sighed and nodded. "You're right. Come on, we need to get back before they start to worry." He said as he handed Plagg his cheese. 

Once Plagg was back in his pocket Adrien made his way to his friends. Marinette was the first to notice him and smiled. "Adrien! Are you ok?" She asked as they all ran to him. "Yea I'm fine. Are you guys ok." He asked. "All good here." Alya smiled and looked at everyone. "We're alright." Luka responded and Adrien nodded as he looked at him. 

The satisfaction it would bring him to just punch that smile off his face. It was almost too tempting. He knew it wasn't worth losing Marinette's friendship. "Alright well I've had enough excitement for today." Marinette smiled a bit and sighed. "I'm gonna head home." She said softly and Luka nodded. 

"Be careful." Luka smiled. Marinette nodded a bit and blushed as he kissed her head. "I'll walk with you. I'm pretty tired and should be getting home." Adrien said as he shrugged and rubbed the back of his neck. She smiled and walked up to him. 

Luka watched the two then went back to talking with Alya and Nino. As Adrien walked Marinette home he would take quick glances at her and look back at his feet. "Marinette..I've got a question." He said quietly and Marinette looked at him. "what is it?" She responded and he panicked a bit on the inside. 

Her voice was so soft and relaxed. She was so amazing. He snapped out of his thoughts when she poked his arm. "You ok there Agreste?" She giggled. He chuckled nervously and nodded. "Yea..anyway I was just wondering. Weren't you a little upset that Luka just ran off and didn't bother to try and help protect you? You could have gotten hurt." He said quietly.

Marinette smiled a little and looked down. "No..in all honesty I was happy he did. I don't care what happens to me, as long as you guys are safe and out the way then that is all I need to keep my head on my shoulders." She replied. She looked at Adrien. "That's not it though! I know I'm his girlfriend and I should be happy when he's with me but..sometimes he tends to over do things and he is a little to attached to my side. He's supportive and sweet but sometimes I wish he didn't want to know everything. I can feel him breathing down my neck if I'm doing something around him.." Marinette mumbled and wrapped her arms around herself.

"Him running off to protect himself gave me a moment of privacy and space. It was a little nice for how long it lasted. I had a second to breath in my own air." She smiled and Adrien frowned. "He doesn't give you any time for yourself? What about when your at home?" He asked. "Well..he constantly want's to be on a video chat or see what I'm doing. I just enjoy those seconds of space when I can." Marinette said softly and looked at Adrien.

Adrien nodded a bit and relaxed once they got to the bakery. "I'll see you at school. Maybe we can eat lunch together?" He suggested and Marinette nodded. "Sounds good. Thanks for keeping me company. Be careful on your way home. Bye Adrien!" Marinette smiled and walked inside going up to her room.
