"Oh my god Miles you gave me half a heart attack."
I turned around and slapped his arm by reflex, causing him to giggle a bit.

"My bad, my bad. Whatcha talking about?"

"Don't you have somewhere else to be?"
I proclaimed, trying my best to dismiss him.

Millie emitted a look of bewilderment.
"He's actually trying to talk to you for once and you try to shoo him away?"

"Yeah right, who've you become?"
Sadie added, half joking.

Millie circled back.
"Wait, is this who you walked with?"

"Yep."
Miles responded plainly.
The two girls looked at each other, eyes slightly bigger.

"I swear.."
I mumbled loud enough for Miles to hear.

"Was that supposed to be a secret? These are your best friends."

"Yeah, your best friends Margo. Who you funnily enough tried to keep this a secret from."

"Is that so?"

"Miles."

"I've got nowhere else to be! You know Jayde and Vinnie aren't here yet. Liv isn't here either."

"Well okay."
Millie interrupted, sounding as if she'd just released a load of held breath.
"I was about to say something way out of pocket. When does Liv get here usually?"

"When she feels like it I guess. But usually a minute or two before the bell."

Why. Why? WHY? Did he have to be talking with my friends? Right now? At this very moment?
"Hate to kill this sweet chat you've got going on here but I've gotta go to the restroom. Miles, I'll see you in first period, and I'll see you guys at lunch. Okay? Tell Vada I say hi if any of you see her. Alright, bye!"

I rushed toward the restroom that'd hardly ever been occupied. Meaning, the hallway was usually quite deserted as well. Even though everyone sort of knew about it, they had just decided to keep it that way. Just another one of the instinctual type of things. However, before I could even make it to the door, I got my body slammed into the wall, then turned around. By Miles. How pleasant.

"Seems like we're back to old behavior now, huh?"
I started, feeling cocky for once.
"But holy shit Miles. What the actual hell."

"Why are you so ashamed to be around me? Isn't this what you've wanted forever?"

"This current situation that we're in right now? Not particularly."

He slammed my back against the wall repeatedly. About three times. Then once he re-pinned me, he had more force.
"Don't be such a smartass with me, Margo."

"Okay then, seriously.. what do you get out of being such an egotistical prick?"

"Answer my question you-"
