(!possible tw: drinking!)

-

Millie didn't want to disagree. I knew deep down, even though she didn't really like Olive all that much, and she went along as support, she'd been enjoying the whole thing just a bit. So, all she did was shrug in response and followed after her. Sadie turned back to me, assuring one more time that I didn't want to go with them. I shook my head.

Once they left, I sighed and wiped my clothes down.

"You're playing a dangerous game girl."
One of the girls said.

I turned around to face the voice.
"What?"

"I admire the confidence but you know she like, really hates you, right?"
The girl next to her chimed in.
"Oh! That's you! Okay, yeah she really can't stand you."

The third girl in the room spoke up too.
"You're playing with fire. Livy is crazy when she wants to be."

The second girl kept going.
"Just be careful, okay? That's all we're saying."

"No introduction from you guys? Just warning?"

"Oh yeah, sorry. Duh. So I'm Diem, this is my older sister Naya."
Naya waved.
"And that's Kaliah over there, but we call her Kali. Back to what counts is you gotta be-"

"Careful, I know. I'm trying to get her to crack is all. I know she can't stand me and she's trying so hard to pretend. It's actually killing me. I appreciate it you guys though, seriously."

We all sort of sat there in silence until the three of them returned. She handed me just a straight up bottle instead of a plastic cup or a glass like they all had. It was a wine bottle.
"What is this?"

"It was between this or flavored vodka. The girls said you'd prefer wine. You're welcome."

"Okay.. not to sound picky, but why do I just get the ends of the bottle?"

"We ran out of plastic cups and glasses. I thought you'd still want some regardless of what it's in. I guess next time you won't get anything."

I'd decided to peek inside of the small opening and swished it around. Diem pulled out her phone and began typing away.
"Thanks."

"Yep! Now, I wanted to get you guys your drinks first but I actually made a bit of a mess downstairs so I'll be right back."
Once she left, Naya picked up her phone.

"You know what you guys have to see?!" Diem exclaimed.
Millie took a sip of her drink and Sadie hummed in question.
"Well I can't really describe it, you'll just have to see it yourself. Kali, you should come with!"

"Okay, sure? You coming to check it out Margo?"

"Nope, I'm good."

"Lamo."

The four of them left and Naya immediately jumped on the opportunity to speak. "Margo."

"Yes?"

"You just gotta trust me."

"With what?"

"Shh. My cup is empty, alright? You need to help me dump Olive's into mine and dump yours into hers."

"What why?"

"Just trust me."

We both quickly did as she requested.

"What was the point in that?"

"Not finished, now go into her bathroom, rinse out your bottle, and dump what's in my cup back into your bottle."

I hesitated but followed through anyway. Something told me she knew what she was doing. That it wasn't all just to see me scramble. Once we were all through, I questioned her odd prompt.

"Diem took them out so we could do this, alright? To help you. Kali, you gotta watch out for. She's more like Liv. What she said wasn't a joke either, she is fucking crazy. Olive seemed to have had intentions going into this whole thing, like you said. Diem and I are just trying to prevent anything bad from happening. The way we see it all, you've done nothing wrong. Kali doesn't see things that way, she thinks of you pretty much the same as Olive. We've got your back with these things. And while Liv is a good friend, she's a horrible person."

-

We'd finally settled in after what felt like hours but in reality it wasn't that long. We were sipping on our drinks, everyone unsuspecting and keeping quiet. Olive had grown sick of running all the way downstairs to keep refilling, so she had brought all the alcohol up to her room. She was surrounded in it. She broke the silence after slurping her wine down again, about 3/4 of another cup.

"So let's keep the chat. Margo! What's the deal with you and Miles?"

I'd choked down the liquid in my mouth before responding.
"What do you mean? You trying to get at something?"

"Only if there is something to get at. Otherwise it's just a harmless question girl."

"Actually I think that's a better question for you to answer. Y'know you've done no answering to anything, you just keep asking.. and only me. Why?"

"Babe please. Don't make yourself the center of attention now."
She'd smiled, maintaining a stuck up look on her face before taking another careful sip from her drink.

"But that's what you've been trying to do the entire night. Place the focus on me. I'm just trying to be fair. So, what's going on with you and Miles then?"

She answered plainly.
"Nothing."

Kaliah felt the need to go to her rescue, putting in her two cents.
"Yeah and why suspect anything less? They're hot together."

"No Kali, that's not what I meant.."

Naya rolled her eyes
"Oh shit, here we go."
She mumbled.

"When I say nothing, I mean literally nothing. Zero. Zilch."

Millie looked at me first, then around to the others.
"What do you mean? You guys can't keep your hands off each other."

Sadie added, "Until the party."

"No! Not just since the party! It's never been good."

Kaliah was the only one concerned. The rest of us had just been listeners, not that we had much a choice
"Livy, what?"

"You guy are constantly going at it in the halls. It's gross."

"Oh shut up Margo!" Olive snapped.
