Shikamaru being Shikamaru. One of the time, Naruko comes to Japan from England. And everyone just made fun of her when she tries to fluently speak Japanese. So, Shikamaru goes and tries to help her.
Shikamaru pov
'What a drag....' I thought as I yawned. "As usual you are like that," Choji said. "Huh? You can't do anything with me." I said. "True, and after many years, you're still a lazy person," Choji said. "Saying one who nearly never gets 100% of tests," I said. "Shikamaru!" Choji said. "Alright, get your places, listen up, and get your places," Kakashi-sensei said.
As everyone went to their place, a blonde girl came into the classroom. "Meet your new classmate. Be nice to her. She is from England." Kakashi-sensei said. 'Ah, immigrant....' I thought. "She will learn Japanese. But, few sentences she can say. Please be nice to her and I hope everyone will be good friends with her." Kakashi-sensei said. 'Hope so....' I thought.
"Say, what's your name?" Ino asks the new girl. On Japanese. 'English idiot!' I thought. The new girl just looked confused. "Ino..." "Do you understand what I am saying?!" Ino asks. I just looked with worry at the new girl. "Ino-chan, leave her...." Hinata said. "No, I want her to say fluently Japanese!" Ino said. "W-watashi wa, anata ga nani i itte, iru, no ka wakarimasen... *I-I don't know what you saying...* " New said. 'Wow, she did say it fluently in Japanese!' I thought.
"Seriously?!" Ino said. "I thought you will say in Japanese! But, you just saying you don't know?!" Ino shouted at the new girl. I just stood up. "Ino stops it," I said. "Why is that?" "What do you mean 'why'?! You shouting at the new girl! From another country! Give some respect!" I shouted at her. "But if she knows Japanese, then that means she knows that easy question!" Ino said.
"She can speak sentence! That doesn't mean she knows Japanese as we do!" I said. "Urgh, I'll just forget about her," Ino said as she walked away.
I was just about to close the door when I noticed tables moved. 'Was this school built at Indians graveyard?' I thought. As I walked close, it was the new girl. I thinking something. "You ok?" I ask in English. She wanted to lift her head, but she hit her head! "Are you ok?!" I ask worriedly!
"Sorry to make you worry about me...." She said in English perfectly. "No no, I was about to close the door, when I noticed tables moved. What you were doing?" I ask, English. "My book disappeared. I thought I left it here, and I couldn't find it." She said. "You mean, about this book?" I ask as I showed the history book. "Oh, where it was?" She asks. "Hinta gave me, Ino took it from your sight contact..." I said. 'Gosh, why Ino needs to be so rude....?' I thought.
Then, an idea came into my head. "Listen, what about you come to my house," I said. "Huh?" "I can help you with Japanese," I said. From her eyes came sparkle. "Thank you! I didn't say my name, but, my name is Naruko Namikaze. Or on Japanese style, Namikaze Naruko." She said. "Well, nice to meet you. Nara Shikamaru. Just to you comfortable, Shikamaru Nara." I said. She just smiled.
The next day
"What up with these papers?" Choji ask. "For Namikaze. My dad made these for her." I said as I held papers for Naruko. "Namikaze? New girl?" Choji ask. "Yep," I said.
"Kawaii!" Girls shouted. "You look so cute Naruko-chan." "So cute on the uniform."
Me and Choji walked and we saw Naruko on Japanese unform. I just felt I was blushing. 'I remember yesterday she had an English uniform...' I thought.
"Konichiwa Shikamaru!" Naruko said. "U-uhm, hi. You look nice with this uniform....." I said as I scratched my neck. "Why is it many people at way inside of classroom? Oh. I see. Wearing now Japanese uniform?" Ino asks. 'Here come's the problem....' I thought. "Now you speak Japanese now?" Ino asks. "Ino, stop. She is like yesterday! Do you think after a day, she can speak Japanese?!" I ask. She just rolled her eyes and walked away. "Sorry...." I said to Naruko. She just waved he hand.
After 9 months
"Who will you invite to the prom Shikamar asks Kiba ask. "Why do you care?" I ask. "Did you?!" Kiba ask. "I'm planning," I said. "Tell me, please! Tell me!" He said. "Naruko..." I said. "Um, you better do it fast. Sasuke is about to ask her to the prom...." Kiba said. 'Damn it this women magnet!' I thought.
Prom day
"Well?" My friends said. "O-o-okuretesumimasen.... *S-s-sorry being late* " Heard Naruko. I turned my head, and were shocked.

"U-um, it's ok. A-and, nice dress...." I said. She just smiled. "I need to be honest, it's a popular dress like that!" Kiba said. She just smiled.
"Thanks for inviting...." Naruko said as she bowed. "Your welcome," I said. She just smiled. Soon a person came out of a car. "See you another time Shikamaru-san." She said as she walked up to that person. 'Waited too long...' I thought.
Graduation day
"Hey, um, Naruko...." I called my former classmate. "Um, you see, I know you treat me as a friend but, right on prom day....." I trailed. 'It's harder than I thought.....' I thought. "You want to confess your feeling?" That made me shocked. "Oh, sorry, right when you helped me to learn Japanese, I began to fall in love with you. But, look's like it's not my fate, sorry..." Naruko said as a few tears came out of her eyes. I just hugged her. "I was about to say it, but, you said it. Thanks. I love you too." I said. Making Naruko cry. I just kissed her forehead.
