The next morning, you awoke to a dead weight around your waist and your legs tangled with Bucky's.

His metal arm was draped around your waist which was slightly awkward because your back was sore and stiff from that sleeping position. You opened your eyes and realized you were still in Bucky's room and his metal arm was around you holding you close to him.

The man was a damn heater. It was nice being snuggled up next to him, but you were also getting quite warm at the same time.

He must have felt you stirring as he lifted his arm off you so you could turn and face him.

"Good morning" he smiled at you.

You let out a groan and scowl and he chuckled.

"You snore" was all he said as he was looking at you with a scrunched nose.

Officially mortified, you glared up at him and he winked at you.

"Serves you right for asking me to stay with you Barnes"

You rolled onto your back, and he let go of you and moved himself into an upright position.

"What's the plan for today?" he asked.

Still on your back you grabbed the blankets and put them over your head while groaning.

"Not a morning person I see"

You grunted and was just about to throw back the sheets and jump out of bed to prove a point, but he was too quick for you. He ripped the sheets down from your face and pinned you down, his body now completely on top of yours.

You looked at him in shock and he was smiling.

"Oh, it's like that is it Barnes!"

You then were able to gain a bit of leverage with the blanket and toss him over to the side and pin him down. That move caught him off guard as you were able to subdue him and lock up his arms. He could have easily overpowered you with his strength, but he didn't.

"I'm going to change quickly and head towards the communication room to make sure the team doesn't need any help" you told him, getting out of his bed. He seemed a little bummed but agreed.

A few minutes later you were both making your way to the communications room. You didn't see any important emails or notices on the main computer and the team seemed to be handling things on their own. There were a few messages from Nat and Steve saying they were fine, so you cleared them, sent them a message saying if they need you to message you, and logged off.

"Breakfast?" asked Bucky.

"Yes please"

You both headed to the kitchen for a quick bite then the gym.

Bucky was getting into a routine of his own. He would head to the gym in the mornings, then the kitchen for lunch, followed by a quick run outside of the compound on one of the trails you showed him earlier. He usually spent the afternoon in his room and was around for dinner. At night he would either read a book or watch some TV. Sometimes he would head to the gym at night depending on if he didn't find anything to watch. This was, of course your observation and in no way did this mean you were stalking him.

You left Bucky in the gym and headed to your room. You were tired from last nights impromptu sleepover, so you wanted to have a small nap and shower before supper. You asked Bucky if he wanted anything in particular for supper and he said whatever there is, he would eat it. After your nap, you went down to the kitchen to see what you could make the two of you for dinner.

You rummaged around in the fridge and found some chicken, potatoes, and salad. You grilled the chicken, peeled, and roasted the potatoes and by the time Bucky came into the kitchen, you were chopping up the veggies for the salad.

"Good workout?" you asked him while slicing up a cucumber.

"Sure was" he sat down at the island.

You stole a quick glance at him and noticed he was watching you while you moved around the kitchen.

He offered to help with setting the table and then onto the dishes that had accumulated. You watched him as he moved around with ease, feeling more comfortable with his surroundings. It felt right being in the kitchen with only Bucky.

"I never got the chance to thank you for last night." He dried a plate.

"I know some nights it's not easy dealing with my nightmares, but you somehow make them better" he smiled at you.

"It's no problem, Bucky" you put the food on the table.

"Everyone needs help occasionally, some more than others. I am just glad that what I am doing is helping you and not making things worse" you sat down to eat.

After supper, Bucky disappeared to his room. You flipped on the TV and tried to find something to watch but there was nothing decent you felt like starting. You glanced out the window and noticed the weather looked nice. You stepped outside of the kitchen doors and took in the surroundings.

Fall was just around the corner; the nights were getting slightly cooler and shorter in length which made for the perfect time to have a bonfire in the firepit.
