Music is the key to life. It helps you keep sane & function for your everyday life activities. The rhythm makes you shiver, the bass keeps your hair on your head, & the lyrics hypnotizes you. The musician's voice tops it all off with liviness. I wish i had a singing voice so i can send out a giving message. I want people to feel positive about themselves. Positivity can give you good strength & energy. It makes you feel powerful like you can conquer the world. I was raised upon music, it's apart of me. I listen to all genres from all over the world. I absolutely love music but my favorite is Sam Cooke. Something about his music just gives me strength. I feel good about myself every time i listen to his music.
I exited from the foggy shower & grabbed my towel along with my mini speaker. I headed to my bedroom with the speaker in my hand. After i dried off, i slip on my silky night gown. It's a bit above my knees but its very loose. Comfortable at its best also. I turned down the volume a little & sat on my bed.
Knock! Knock!
"Who is it?"
"It's me, Diana!" A high pitched voice said.
"Come in." I squeezed some lotion in my hand & rubbed it together.
The door opened "Are you getting ready for bed?" Diana closed the door behind her.
"Yeah, I am."
Diana Ross is my stepmother aka Dad's third wife. (Yes, dad got married three times.) She was his high school teacher back in the day. After he graduated & went to college, he started dating her. Soon enough they were married within a month of dating. I found it strange about their age difference but it doesn't seem to matter to them. A lot of people thought it was cute but i don't find it cute. It makes Dad look like a sugar baby. But he's happy so i can't complain about it. As long as he happy, life is amazing.
"I need to talk to you." She sat beside me "Its about your father."
"What about him?"
"Honey, your father is a good man. He's done a lot to have you in this world. You & i both know he loves you dearly. There's nothing in this world that can break your father down nor tear him apart. He's very strong like a rock. You can trust him, he'll protect you."
A bad feeling appeared in the pit of my stomach. I'm not sure where this is going but it sounds bad.
"Did something happen to Dad?"
"No! No! Your father is okay."
"Then, what are you saying?"
She sighed "If you hear anything from anyone about your father, don't believe them. Because your father did the best he could & he was always there for you. He loves you. "
"Okay." Me & Diana relationship is decent. We're not best friends nor enemies but just simple associates. I can talk to her if something is wrong but i don't trust her. I didn't trust Dad's other three wives either. Let's just say, those marriages ended pretty quickly due to technical difficulties. Me & Diana always have these small talks before bed. I don't know when this started, honestly.
I can't say she's a mother figure to me because she's not my mother. I don't talk about my mother much because I don't know much about her. All I know is that she was a beautiful person that had big dreams to be successful. No picture, no description, nothing. Dad doesn't like to talk about her. He gets emotional just thinking about her. The rest of the family claims they don't have much memory of her because Dad kept her hidden. (Which I thought it was strange for a while.) Hopefully, one day I'll get to hear more about my mother in the future.
