March 26
Saturday, the day of the picnic. I never been on a picnic before. I've seen people on picnics in public & movies. Especially, those 50s movies where the sir & madam is sitting under a tree with a red blanket underneath their butts. The basket is full of delicious snacks & treats, some were even placed out neatly on the blanket for display. Sir & madam having a romantic conversation while holding hands in the middle of the field. Nobody around for miles & miles. Just those two together, alone. But this picnic I'm going to isn't romantic. It's a family picnic, I guess. It's weird how I'm already calling them my family by only knowing them for a few months. I don't know much about them yet. Uncle Tony told me such little about him. But the look in his eyes, tells me he wanted to say more. Something was holding him back from talking. Or was his past too graphic to say out loud? I'm not the type to push when it comes to people's past. Everyone's past is different. I give them space & let them tell me when they're ready. Uncle Tony seemed pretty opened about his past but he couldn't say more. I wonder what's that all about.
I looked down at my new Gucci heels. They're still clean from the unsanitary restroom. Diamond & Pearl stopped by by the gas station for some gas. Me & Aunt Rose had to use the restroom. I tugged on my jacket to make myself neat. I brought the other outfit with me. I still don't know why they wanted me to bring it. The outfit i have on is good enough.
"Are you ready?" Aunt Rose stood behind me, fixing her blonde coily hair. She wore a purple blazer suit with matching heels.
"Yeah sure."
We exited from the restroom to meet Diamond & Pearl sitting in the yellow banana Mustang. They were fixing their makeup in the rearview mirror. We got back in the car together.
"Feel better, Princess?" Diamond asked. She reapplied her red lipstick on her perfect pumped lips.
"Yes."
"We're almost there." Pearl said while brushing her hair with a mini brush.
"Your gonna like the spot we choose. Its very quiet & private. It's the perfect spot!" Diamond said.
"Your father should be calling you by now. He's probably wondering if we made it or not." Pearl said.
Suddenly, my princess phone vibrated in my purse. The caller ID, Daddy popped up. I quickly answered it.
"Hello?"
"Hi, Princess!" His cheerful voice made me grin a bit.
"Hi, daddy."
"Are you guys there yet?"
"Almost."
"Your gonna love the spot. It's very special, I picked it out myself."
"What is it?"
"It's a surprise!"
I heard a strange noise in the background. It sounded like somebody was talking. For some strange reason, the voice sounded familiar. It almost sounds like Diana's voice.
"Daddy, who is that in the background?"
I heard him say hush but it sounded distorted. The familiar voice immediately went silent.
