"Bakit parang ang lutang mo ngayon, Kei Venice?" panimula ni Geilan nang tumunog ang bell for lunch.
"What? Am not"
She rolled her eyes at sinabayan ako sa paglalakad at bahagyang siniko pa ang gilid ko.
"You know I know when you're lying and you really suck at lying" sinamaan ko ito ng tingin dahil alam kong tamang-tama ang sinabi niya.
I have really this first impression that I looked really innocent but I'm far from that. My face doesn't define who I am. Everytime that I get angry or annoyed, they said my face looked calm. I don't really know if that's a good thing.
"Ano na! Tulala ka na naman eh!" Ingay eh!
"Yesterday, I mean yesternight, something happened"
"Sabi ko na eh! Sana pala hindi nalang ako sumipot sa dinner namin! Wala naman silang ginawa doon kung hindi ikumpara ako sa mga pinsan kong may pangarap 'daw' sa buhay" saad nito na kunot na kunot ang kilay.
"They should stop comparing, it's obvious how amazing you are" banat ko para ma-iba ang topic namin.
Hindi sa ayaw kong sabihan si Geilan but I don't really wanna talk about it. Nakakasama ng mood ang nangyari kagabi eh.
"Touch naman ako do'n, V! Alam mo, tatanggapin ko ang bola mo pero hindi ko makakalimutan na may topic pa tayong dapat pag-usapan! Ikaw ha, change topic!"
I sighed and gave up. I told her everything that happened that night and she's with her usual self again, oaness at its finest!
"Omg! Did he kiss you? Gano'n kase ang nakikita ko sa mga drama eh at tsaka may ganyang scenes din akong nababasa sa mga libro" sabi niya at tinutusok-tusok pa ang tagiliran ko. I'm annoyed!
"What? Are you serious? Eh hindi nga ako nagpapahawak sa kung sino-sino tapos halik pa? Parang tanga lang" I exclaimed while trying to get out from her. She's extra clingy today, I really hate it.
"I have a question" she suddenly asked.
"Shoot"
"Gwapo ba?" Tanong nito nang nakangisi. Oh, gwapo is an understatement, Geilan. "Sakto lang" sagot ko nalang dahil alam kong magtatanong na naman ito kapag sinabi kong napakagwapo ng lalaki kagabi. Well, I won't deny that because it's the truth.
"Sayang naman" she muttered. Talaga ha?
We finshed our lunch at sabay na kaming bumalik patungo sa block dahil parehas naman kami ng schedule ngayon.
"Eli!" Nahinto si Geilan sa paglalakad at sinulyapan ang tumawag sa kanya. I didn't turned around because I knew who it was.
"Kuya!" Only her brother calls her 'Eli'. I wanted to walk ahead but I think that's kinda rude so I chose to wait for Geilan.
It was so awkward because Calix was talking to his sister but his eyes were fixated on me. Anong trip nito? Duling lang ang peg.
Ibinaba ko ang paningin ko, to avoid his gaze dahil hindi ko alam ang laman ng tingin na iyon. Kung galit ba o paghanga pa rin. Ganda ko naman.
Natapos ang pag-uusap nila at sinulyapan pa ako ni Calix bago ito umalis. Tagal naman makamove-on nito. Last last month pa 'yun ah.
"You okay? Kuya was eyeing you the whole time we talked" she chuckled.
"Oo, mukha nga siyang naduling sa ginawa niya" she laughed and pulled me with her. I won't think twice of blaming her when my bones will break dahil sa lakas ng hatak niya sa kamay ko.
Natapos ang araw and I requested to my boss na aabsent muna ako ngayon sa cafe dahil today, we will make our resumes for our OJT. Oh, how I wish Silverstone Company will accept us!
Sabay kaming gumawa ni Geilan sa apartment ko dahil may laptop ito at ayaw ko namang gumawa sa computer shops dahil ayaw ko lang. Ang daming tambay na lalaki pero hindi naman kagwapohan, mga amoy pawis pa. That's disgusting.
"Manifesting for Silverstone Company's confirmation email" Geilan muttered while intertwining her two fingers. I manifest!
"In the name of Silverstone, amen" we said in unison and laugh afterwards.
Geilan decided to slept over and she requested that we must do a movie marathon. Because in the years of our friendship, we never have done that. I'm not really quite a fond of cheesy things and activities like that but since I'm set for the mood, I'd go for it.
While setting up, Geilan cannot stop talking about the new assigned CEO of Silverstone. She was wondering if who's the who so it made me curious too. Silverstone doesn't really show the major holders of the company, but once you're inside the company you can access these informations.
There are rumors too na baka ang anak ni Mr. Forjeros and pumalit sa kanya. But I cannot get the point bakit papalitan ito, I mean he's still capable of managing the company really well.
Mr. Forjeros is a known business man in the country and even abroad. Their company runs clothing line, resorts and hotels, cars and even stations of gasoline and many more.
Their company is so big that my hopes is getting crushed by chance of getting hired as an intern. I mean it's a dream like so I really hope they're accepting interns.
"It's ready!" We started binge-watching in netflix but minutes later, Geilan is already knocked off. Siya 'tong unang nag-aya pero siya din ang unang nakatulog.
I was startled when my phone made a ding sound. Oh, did I left my data open?
I opened my phone and viewed the notification. Gee, didn't expect Silverstone will accept us that fast. Hindi naman pala mahirap. Kidding.
Pumunta agad ako sa email ko at nagscroll. Another email suddenly popped up but my phone died! Panget kabonding ng phone na 'to. Sarap ibato. My mobile date will expire an hour later so I don't think I can view that email.
Maybe it's nothing really important. Nagpapaload lang naman ako kapag gusto ko, I was usually comnecting to the library's wifi para makaless. You know, practicality.
Linigpit ko na ang pinagkainan namin at in-off ang laptop. I wasn't watching, the movie was boring and I really prefer reading that watching cringey things from that screen.
