Her Bad Habits!

"New Stress!"

It's the 15th of March, and it's assessment week. It's like exam week but less intense. Students tend to not take it that seriously. It's the morning and Alex just arrived at school to only Kira seated alone at their usual spot. "Hey? You alone today?" Alex asked as she sat down next to Kira. "Oh hey,Kira said still looking down on her phone " been calling Kylie but she's not responding nor responding to any of my messages." Kira added showing Alex multiple messages she's left for Kylie. "She's also not getting back to me." Alex said taking out her phone and hoping that her bestie eventually got back to her. "Yep, still nothing." Alex sighed as she placed her phone on the table. "I guess, it's just the two of us for the day today." Kira said. Alex choked on that thought but the bell rang as she was about to respond. Everyone disappeared to their classes. 

**Kylie's POV**

Yay, it's the 15th of March today and you know what that means? It means i'm getting kicked out of school. I made peace with it but my parents haven't cause right now they went to plead with the principal to give them more time. I'm sure you're wondering how i'm only having fees problems in the senior year, what about the previous years? So here's what happened, my dad was working at a construction company and my mom is a teacher. My dad last year started drinking and gambling but not heavy drinking just normal, average. But his gambling problem was serious but he didn't always lose money, actually he won quite often and every time he won, he would take us out, my mom, younger brother and sister(twins) and I. And after taking us out, he would go out to drink and we then found out that he was spending his money on some woman and after careful investigation we found out that it was my mother's best friend Aunt Joyce. My dad didn't even deny it, he would just act cocky and aggressive and he would always respond with "I can afford two women so let me be!" After that line, he would leave the house. 

So late last year my dad got fired cause he started being late always, always drunk. My mom was devastated because we literally depended on my dad's income, my mother's income wasn't that much. So when he got fired, my mother tried to reach in for their savings, money they been saving for as long as i was born but when my mom got to the bank she was told that my father had withdrawn that money for a 'family emergency'. So that's how they became broke. My siblings go to a public school, so it's not that hard for them but me on the other hand, it's a different story. Now i'm just thinking of ways i could help bring money to the house because i'm afraid we might even lose our house. So yay welcome to my life. :-|

It's finally after school and Kira and Alex were standing outside the school yards waiting on their transports when Kylie's parents approached the school gate. "Hawu, Ma no Baba(Mom and Dad)?" Alex exclaimed as soon as she saw Kylie's parents. " Oh, how are you my love?" Mrs Dlamini asked hugging Alex and shared warm smile with Kira. "We are fine Ma, umm can i ask? Why didn't Kylie come to school today? is she fine? Kira jumped in before Alex could say anything. Mrs Dlamini gently looked over to Mr Dlamini who seemed unbothered by the whole situation. "Umm, uKylie is fine my kids, just a minor problem." Mrs Dlamini said again with her warm smile. Before they could ask any more questions, Mrs Dlamini quickly said her goodbyes and the couple went inside the school. "That was odd." Kira said looking at Alex who nodded in agreement. A few minutes later they heard a car honking at them, they both turned to look at the car and it was Jade's black jeep. "Shit!" Kira said under her breath, she forget that Jade offered to pick her up today. "I guess your ride's here." Alex said trying to not sound jealous and childish. "Umm...yeah bye." Kira said as she headed towards the car. 

"You need a ride?" Jade asked looking at Alex. "Who?Me?" Alex asked, all confused. "Yeah, come on!" Jade shouted. "Umm okay." Alex hesitated, heading for the passengers's seat. She texted her driver not to come anymore, she was already sorted. "Umm...thanks." Alex said as she closed the door and sat uncomfortably. "No prob, anything for my sweet cheeks's friends and you seem cool so yeah." Jade said smiling at Kira. Alex just rolled her eyes and stared out the window avoiding the couple. "Are you usually this quiet or i'm the problem here?" Jade joked looking at Alex on the mirror. Alex mimicked Jade's voice under her breath. "What was that?" Jade asked. "Nah i just need time adjusting after meeting new people." she said with a sarcastic smile. Kira just remained quiet and avoided eye contact with either one of them. "Well, i could help you with adjusting over ice cream, please?" Jade asked Alex as he pulled up at an ice cream shop.
