From the opening line, I could already tell that the book was going to be an amusing one. Danny and Claire's characters complement each other and they make the chapter lively with their sassiness. Grammar-wise, the dialogue of different characters should not be in the same paragraph and you did that more than once. You also changed tenses from present to past a couple of times. Tyler was said to be seven years old, and then some lines later, he was said to be eight. I think you should address that. Other than that, there were spelling and punctuation errors which can easily be fixed. The humor was scattered all over the chapter so my routine was "laugh, go back to reality, and repeat". Although it was only the first chapter, it was a great read!

The first thing I noticed was that you tend to make things that are already obvious more obvious. For example, when the main character's question was answered with a question, there was no need to tell us that Mr Smith responded to her question with a question. From what I read, I can say that Mr. Smith was quite...self-obsessed. The chapter was a bit confusing so I had to read chapter 8 but it was humorous. Nice job!
