Kai: and the Grim Forest

The Grim Reaper (Prologue)

One winter morning, the wind was so cold it pierced his throat. A young boy named Kai Tanoshi was walking to his cave, hauling firewood, fish and fruit. "I'm back!!!!" Kai yelled to his best friend Tsuya, she peered around the corner.

"I brought the firewood and the food you needed. Any luck starting the fire?" Kai asked, "No. Not even a single spark!" Tsuya cried out. "Here this might help." Kai said as he lit the cave with his dark magic and placed the dark fire on the wood. Kai and Tsuya have lived together since they were five years old, they were both rejected by society because of being different.

"Thanks. Wait, did you hear that?" Tsuya asked, they stopped and listened, "Get down!!!" Kai yelled as they both ducked and the king of the Sacred forest's henchmen broke in with explosive powers.

Tsuya ripped apart the other part of the cave and they ran, "We have runners!" The henchmen yelled, Kai and Tsuya were already far ahead but the henchmen were faster than them.

They were on their tails literally, they had to stick their tails up to not get caught. When suddenly Kai tripped, they started whacking him with sticks and Tsuya started to turn back when suddenly they ran away.

Tsuya turned and saw they were past the barrier of The Grim Forest and there it was, the reason why nobody goes to the Grim Forest, the Grim Reaper is the protector of the forest. "Kai wake up" Tsuya cried as she shook him, she had to jump to dodge the giant scythe.

She summoned two sickles and caught hold of the scythe and as the Grim Reaper brought the scythe back up she was on his head. She swung her sickles at his head but The Grim Reaper punched her off of him, she was on the stump of a tree and the Grim Reaper had his scythe at her head and "Shing" Kai's sword went as he chopped the reaper's head off right before the scythe reached her head.

Tsuya was staring at him and he stared back "C'mon let's continue our journey." Kai responded. Tsuya still sat there as her life still flashed before her, Kai grabbed her hand and pulled her up. They walked for a few hours waiting to find shelter, yet still no shelter, "Kai do you think we'll find shelter?" Tsuya asked, "I hope. Are you getting tired? If so I could carry you" Kai responded, "No I'm fi-" Tsuya started until she fell asleep.

Kai picked her up and carried her, Kai thought they were hopeless until he saw a light in the distance and ran as fast as he could and he saw a sign, "Koko's Ninja Camp" it read, Kai knocked on the door. "Hello" a young lady greeted them "Hello is there a way we could stay here for the night?" Kai asked "We were chased by the Grim Reaper until we defeated it after a few minutes and my friend here was so tired I had to carry her here."

"We accept anyone, what is your name?" She asked, "Umm... Kai Tanoshi, but you can just call me Kai, oh and this is Tsuya Kat." Kai responded by showing Tsuya to her. "I am Sensei Koko."  Sensei Koko replied. Kai woke Tsuya up and she walked inside the campus with Kai, "If you would like to become a ninja in our ninja camp you may." Sensei Koko offered.

Tsuya looked at Kai "Yes, yes we would" Tsuya and Kai responded at the same time. Kai and Tsuya walked up to the bedrooms and the other ninjas were sleeping, they quickly phased through the walls to the empty room and Kai got into his bed and Tsuya got into hers. "Night" Kai said, "Good night" Tsuya replied.
