Kai: and the Grim Forest

The Calling

It was Jay! Jay was running from behind covered in tears, blood, and soot, carrying Ume in his arms. "Woah, what happened!" Sensei Koko gasped as she lied Ume down, Ume's head turned to Sensei Koko and she whispered "in my pocket." Sensei Koko grabbed what looked to be small gift box, when she opened it, it expanded into a medical box filled with band aids, medication, pills, etcetera. She whipped out a bottle and it read "Maximum health" she read the description and applied the ointment, "This will sting a little bit." Sensei Koko whispered to Ume. Tears still running down Ume's cheeks and suddenly the wounds closed and the bleeding stopped. Ume sat up and applied bandaids and ointment onto Jay's injuries.

Meanwhile back at the campsite Kunai was practicing his kunai throwing skills, and Kai and Tsuya enhanced their magic. Tai was making training exercises and equipment for them to train with. "Kai! I need help with making this mind if you could lend a hand!" Tai yelled from across the woods. Kai got up and set his spell book down, he ran towards Tai, when suddenly Kai heard a noise from the distance. He walked towards it slowly and carefully, he heard something in a hole, he got on his knees to listen, and he felt something move. It was the ground! Kai jumped out of the way and grabs a root, he let out a loud scream and vanished.

Tai looks up and runs towards the others, "Guys Kai's in trouble!" Tai yelped. "Woah... is that like a twin telepathy or" Tsuya asked, "No time to explain, but also yes." Tai replied quickly, they ran towards the woods and they saw a giant hole in the ground, the roots sticking out almost formed teeth. Tsuya put a "light as a feather" enchantment on them and they jumped down the hole.

They find foot steps about the size of a thirteen year old boy, Tsuya followed the foot prints until she heard Kai's voice echo. Tsuya looks around for any footprints but they stop, "Uhhh, guys." Kunai exclaimed pointing upwards. There he was handing by his feet from the ceiling Kunai throws a knife hitting the roots that dangle his friend, but when the knife hits the root it suddenly disintegrates. "That can't be good!" Tai exclaims, "Obviously the roots disintegrating a knife isn't good!" Tsuya cried out, "No that!" Tai yelled in fear. Tai was pointing at forest demons, their bulging, beet red, eyes, and their very few hairs on their crooked heads, not to mention their horrific posture.

Tsuya summons a sickle and starts slashing, Kunai is stabbing with his knife, and Tai was cornered and the forest demons had rocks about to slam his head. Tai thought quickly and kicked the ceiling causing rocks to fall onto them but Tai dodged, but not quick enough and his foot got lodged between the rocks. "AHHHHH!" Tai screamed in pain, "Tai!" Kai screamed still hanging from the ceiling, Kai tried to use his dark fire but it would burn his foot and not the root. "Crap how do I get out" Kai thought to himself, then it hit him, he continued using his powers and it started to disintegrate his foot, Tsuya looked at him with tears flowing down his face, then suddenly he fell, he was missing a foot but he's free. Kai put a spell on his foot to give him a foot made of dark energy, he summoned his sword and ran over to his injured brother.

Kai slashed a clean cut through the rocks with his sword. Tai released his foot from the rocks that were smashing his foot, Kai pulled out his spell book and enchanted his foot to automatically heal itself, fast. Kai summoned an ax for Tai, "It will respond to your calling." Kai explained. Tai through the ax and it hit five and a half demons, one was already cut in half, and when he wanted it to come back it came back to his hand. Tai smirked, "Nice." Tai pumped his new ax in the air. Kai helped Tai up, and started slashing and punching, Kai stepped on ones face, while Kai's guard was down one came up behind him with a sharp smile, "Good bye!" The forest demon yelled in a deep, menacing voice. Tsuya jumped in the way and cut its arms off, it's arms quickly regenerated and he took hold of Tsuya and ran off with her. "TSUYA!" Kai screamed he ran at breakneck speed, but didn't make it in time. The forest demon enclosed the deep dark hole with sharp enchanted roots, Kai pounded his fist on the roots. "Kai now is the time to get angry, like really angry." Kunai hinted at Kai. Kai started heavily breathing, then suddenly Kai summoned his katana and started slashing the roots with all his might, Tai, Kunai, and Ray help cut the root with rocks and knives, which mostly disintegrated. "GIVE ME BACK MY FRIEND!!" Kai screamed at the top of his lungs, and he took a big slash through the roots, which nearly instantly snapped.

They quickly run down the hole just to see Tsuya tied up held over a humongous cauldron, placed just barely over a scalding, hot fire. "Can we ever catch a break!" The forest demon barked, speaking for all the other forest demons. Ray jumped and grabbed Tsuya and started untying her, Kai, Kunai, and Tai held back the forest demons, but the forest demons sure put up a fight. "Guys step back real quick." Kunai ordered, Kai and Tai stepped back, while Kunai started to climb up one of the roots and his eyes turned as black as the midnight sky. Kunai pulled out twelve kunais, jumped off of the long root throwing each of the kunais, one at a time, hitting every throw right to the head. Once Kunai touched the ground so did all the demons. Kai, Tsuya, Kunai, Tai, and Ray climbed out of the hole and into the cabin, Kocho looked at them at first with just a glance, looked away and then realized their injured. "Oh my gosh, what happened." Kocho exclaimed, "Demons." Kunai groaned, "Dude I'm right here." Kai scoffed, "You know what I meant." Kunai laughed.

Kocho and Tsuya gave Kunai, Tai, Kai, and Ray medical attention, Kai laid down again on the hospital bed and the bright lights nearly blinded him, he closed his eyes, till suddenly Tsuya walked in and pulled out her spell book. She grabbed Kai's arm and chanted the spell, Kai's arm's bruises and cuts suddenly vanished, "Thanks!" Kai exclaimed smiling, Kai takes Tsuya's spell book and healed her wounded areas.

Back in the woods Sensei Koko and the others ran closer and closer to the big, dark, and terrifying Demon Fortress. Guards surround the enemy territory, Sensei Koko started telling the plan, "Alright, we need two groups of two, Wanda and Jay go to the left wing of the fortress." "Yes ma'am!" Wanda and Jay reported, "That leaves Ume and Finn." Sensei Koko finished, Finn and Ume nodded. Ume and Finn ran to the right wing, Jay and Wanda sprint to the left wing, leaving Sensei Koko to sneak through the front door.
