Hours later I'm sitting in the back of the large detention room watching as the rain splatter wildly against the glass windows. The classroom is impossibly noisy about the party tomorrow. Time is moving so slowly as if taunting me to get up and leave. My anxiety increases with every second and as does my pencil drums faster against the wooden desk. Olivia stops my hand, snatches the pencil away and starts drawing with it.
"Are you going to the party tomorrow?" Liv asked
"Nope, staying home and reading my new books" I sigh
Olivia presses her lips into a thin line, giving me her best challenging glare. Her hazel eyes stare into my emerald ones and her ginger hair sway with her movements.
"I have a mystery to solve" I explained quickly. She gave me a questioning gaze
"I have to find out who Orion is, I found a bunch of boxes in the attic with his name.
"Oh, well I got to go pick something up from the office. Meet you by the lockers?" she says while grabbing her stuff quickly.
"You're hiding something from me", she ignores me
"Olivia Gralin Hale, stop ignoring me I need answers" she continues to ignore me and turns around. I lay back in my seat and watch her quickly disappear out of room. I glance at the clock, and it has only moved 3 minutes. I groan.
4 more agonizing minutes to go.
I stared out of the window as the rain slowly cascaded down. Thunder rolled over head making many girls in the room squeal and cling onto their boyfriends. I frown to myself thinking back to Olivia's reaction.
Uncle Zeus, I hope you're coming for your brother.
The bell rings indicating that detention is over. I quickly gather my books and notes stuffing them haphazardly into my bag. I jump to my feet and swing the designer bag on my shoulder as I dash out of the door. I walk over to Liv's locker. She stands there awkwardly shuffling her feet.
"Liv" I call out, her head swiftly turns to me, and a lopsided grin appears on her face. I nod my head to the school doors as an indication to meet up outside. She nods and walks away. I go to my locker and grab my umbrella and walk out of the building. I meet her next to my motorcycle and put my bag under the seat. I take up the two helmets and hold it out for her.
"I am not riding that deathtrap Alina", a devishily smirk appears on my face.
"Ok, call your father to come get you and stand out here in the rain"
Her eyes widen and she snatches the helmet away putting it on. I put my own helmet on and put the key in the ignition. The engine roars to life and I swerve out of the big parking lot and on to the main road. The rain splattered hard and loudly on our helmets. I swerve in and out of traffic rushing to get us home and out of the rain.
"Al watch out!" Olivia screamed
Boom!
A bolt of lightning appeared out of nowhere I wasn't fast enough to stop or swerve out of the way. The bolt of lightning hit me directly making my motorcycle explode. Sending me and Olivia flying in two different directions
My body landed two feet away with a loud thud, and I immediately blacked out.
