[Jungwon]
The ride back to the Palace is relatively silent. Not uncomfortable or awkward of any sorts as Jungwon would've expected. In hindsight, he should've known that there would be no room for such emotions when he's with the Crown Prince who couldn't seem to stop running either his mouth or his hands.
Right now, they're back on the road with Snow, and Jungwon is the one pulling at the reins which means that Sunghoon is free to do whatever he wants with both of his hands. Of course, he chooses to annoy the younger by running them all over him.
Jungwon has spent all his energy during their duel, the sudden kiss (he's still fuming at that one, the audacity after creating the rules in the first place), and then facing Sunoo's wrath after catching them on the act, that the younger no longer has it in him to snap at the Crown Prince. He mentally winces upon remembering the conversation he had with his brother who pulled him away after the fiasco.
"May I remind you, young man, that you are not of age to be fooling around—"
"We're not fooling around. It's just a kiss—"
"—with a man two years your senior! And don't open your mouth at me. I have no idea where it's been."
Jungwon heaves a deep, annoyed sigh at that which his brother responds to with a withering glare.
"I know," he finally concedes with an eye roll.
"I sure hope you do. Kissing for show is different from full on making out on a private field with no one around. And don't tell me I'm wrong because you two were already going at it even before we arrived. Seriously, who were you impressing? The trees?"
Jungwon feels that his energy has depleted. If only his brother is not with the group heading towards the week-long festival, he wouldn't bother coming back and would call in an early night.
He and the Crown Prince, along with three of the eight guards that Heeseung has brought with him, are on their way back to the Palace so both he and Sunghoon can clean up. The guards are positioned on their right, left, and rear. They maintained a safe distance from the two but their mere presence are enough to suffocate Jungwon. Now he understands why the Crown Prince would rather escape than be escorted. Not to mention the slow-pace they're taking.
He knows how fast Snow can go and he itches to put it to test once again. Especially that they're still heading back out to join the others after cleaning up.
Jungwon already feels like falling asleep through the hassle. But he knows he wouldn't be able to sleep anyway if Sunoo is not in the room next to him or with him. Even now, going back to the Palace without his brother doesn't sit right with him. He knows he can trust his brother and the others to an extent but he'd rather be with them altogether.
He left Sunoo with some instructions and made his brother swear up and down to follow through them much to the others' horror. He can't exactly blame them. His instructions are a bit... morbid, so to speak.
"Stay in the center of the group. Do not hesitate to kill if necessary. Incapacitating them won't do. If they move, aim for the head. You're well-versed with common poisoning so do not, and I cannot stress this enough, do not eat whatever food's presented to you immediately. Let them stay in your mouth for a while. Identify the taste and the smell. Do not chew. If they're odorless and tasteless, spit them out. Most poisoning won't take effect immediately unless they're in your bloodstream. Avoid being cut and cover your skin."
"You're too tense, doll. We'll be back with your brother before you know it," Sunghoon suddenly speaks right to his ear and squeezes Jungwon's thighs before moving his hands back up to the younger's torso and down again.
