Part 6

We pulled up to my favorite sushi place
Sushi ota.
My heaven.
I haven't been here since before rehab which has been a fat minute.
My heart almost can't take how excited I am.

We start walking in and get a booth.

"So what do you usually get here." Ethan says to me looking down at the menu.

"I usually get a volcano roll or spicy tuna with miso soup of course, what are you going to get." I ask.

"I don't know probably the regulars ones what are they called ummm California roll." He's says.

"A regular one?" I say chuckling
"Have you had sushi before?" I say still laughing.

"Well I'm sort of a pizza kind of guy." He says scratching the back of his neck.

"We didn't have to come here I'm fine with pizza or something." I say

"I didn't think you'd want to come I know you said you love sushi so I'm willing to try it." He says playing with a napkin.

I think this the first time of seen I'm not cocky or like confident.

"Well now you're making me feel bad they have fried rice and other seafood or something you might like." I say

"No it's fine I want to try it you hype it up now I got to see what the hype is all about." He says

"Oh my god I'm taking you sushi virginity" i state

"Oh god don't say it like that." He says covering his face.

Our waitress walks up right then.
We give her our orders.

"So Ethan this is our date right?" I ask.
I had been wondering that since he asked me earlier.

"Oh this? No this is just lunch." He says taking a drink of his Pepsi he ordered.

"What are you planning that isn't like this?" I say

"I mean Karter if you want to make this date so badly we can" he winks at me.

"That's not what I said." I say.
A same silence falls over.
Before I start thinking about Cassie and everything else.
I just can't wrap my head around why he even wants to see me.
I'm just thinking if he was ever seen with me I know it wouldn't look good for him.
They probably think He's seeing the druggie that had to go to rehab must be a charity case.
They already say it about Alexa and Cassie.
A lot of people just think they hang out with me because they feel bad.
Especially Cassie, Cassie's friends with everyone even the popular stuck up people which I don't mind I know she cares for me we've been best friends forever.

"Hey Ethan" I snap out of my trance.

"Yeah?" He replies.

"Why do you really want to go on a date with me." I say

"Didn't we have conversation like this it's because I like you." He smiles at me.

"It's just hard to believe that when you know about some of my personal issues and you have people like Cassie and I'm sure many others interested in you." I say leaving the drug issues out of it I don't feel liking everyone in the restaurant knowing about that.
