This is a work of fan fiction using characters from the popular show cook with comali 2. The description of incidents in this story is fictional and entirely unrelated to the persons after whom the characters are named. The story is only an imaginary plot with my take on ashaangi. Bidding goodnight to Rakshan, Ashwin walked up to his room. His mind was occupied with her thoughts, he was worried if she would sleep in peace as he took slow strides down the corridor. He spotted a familiar figure standing in the corridor overlooking the shore. The weather was breezy and cold, showing all the signs for a rainy night. The sound of the high tides hitting the shore was heard from where he stood and there was an obscured sereneness in the air around him.

"Inum thungaliya pa?" Ashwin asked walking up to Dhamu.

(Haven't you slept yet?)

"Va Ashwin! Ila, ponum.Sivaangi epdi iruka? Doctor enna sonanga"

(Come Ashwin! Yea I was just about to. How is Sivaangi? What did the doctor say?)

"Stitches potrukanga pa. CWC la ana mariye cut paniruka. Pain irukum, pain killer kuduthurukanga. Thungita." He said worriedly.

(Same as before. They have put stitches. She might experience some pain but they have given pain killer shots. She fell asleep.)

Dhamu just nodded and looked back at the soft-lit lawn.

"Enachu pa?" Ashwin questioned him not able to read his expression.

(What is it pa?)

"Evalo nal ipdiye iruka poringa?"

(How long are you guys gonna be like this?)

"Pa?"

"Neenga rendu perum evalo nal ipdiye iruka poring nu keteyn"

( I mean you both....How long are you guys gonna be like this?

"Adhu...Pa....Ungaluku epdi..."

(How....Pa....I mean...)

"Ashwin, nanum oru ponnoda appa. I would not claim to be the perfect parent but I know what my kid is going through. Ninga rendu perum en pasanga dhan. Ninga ipdi irukuradhu seri ila Ashwin. Adhu ungala mattum ila ungala suthi irukura elarayum affect pannum. Unga rendu peru nadula edho seri ila. Adhu enna nu enaku teriya vendam. But I know one thing, that you are visibly in love with her."

(Ashwin, I have a daughter. I would not claim to be the perfect parent but I know what my kid is going through. You both are no less than my own kid. But this is not right Ashwin. This silence will not just affect you both but also the people around you. It is clear that things are not smooth between you both. I do not want to know what it is. But I know one thing, that you are visibly in love with her.)

"Pa..."

"Ahaan. Onum solladha. When the son is in love, the father just knows!" He said patting his arm.

(No. Dont say anything. When the son is in love, the father just knows!)

"Ana ningaley oruthar oruthar pesama, oruthar kita irundhu oruthar maranjutu irundha there will be no solution for this. Sanda poduradhu tappey ila in fact it strengthens any relationship ana andha sandaya resolve pannama vekuradhu dhan tappu. It will lead to more and more misunderstandings. Idhulam na solli dhan unaku teriyanum nu ila. Ana sila nerathula namakey teriyama tappa panuvom adhu epdi seri panradhu teriyama thavipom. Take it from me, one conversation will make things better if not good."
