Flynn's POV //
"Come to mine? I have a surprise for you" I asked nervously.
She tilted her head, oh my god. I wasn't gonna do this until tomorrow but I can't wait.
"Trust me?" I asked, opening the door for her. She smiled, getting in.
"Oh, I trust you with my life" she said as I started up the car. She does?
Once we got back to my house, I let her in. "Okay follow me" I said, holding my hand out.
She held it, no hesitation. They're so soft, they fit perfectly within mine.
She followed me outside to the pool, sitting by the edge of the pool.
I got up, okay I know what I'm doing. I turned on the fairy lights I put up and grabbed the bag I tucked away.
She was smiling so much as I sat beside her. "What are you doing?" She asked, confused.
I grabbed my phone out, playing 'I see the light' making her gasp. "Tangled" she whispered excitedly.
I nodded before grabbing out the lantern, a replica of the one from tangled. I spent all morning tracking it down.
She covered her mouth in shock "You did not" she gasped, tracing her hand over it.
I smiled at her reaction, she loves it. Her pupils were dilated as she looked up at me.
I light the candle inside before handing it to her. She shook her head, grabbing my hand so we were both holding it.
She looked at it like it was the most beautiful thing in the world. The way I was looking at her.
We let it go, watching as it ascended. She turned to me, tears brimming her eyes.
"I can't believe you did all this for me" she said in disbelief before tackling me into a hug. I chuckled, soaking in her warmth.
We stayed this this for a minute until I heard a slight whimper. I pulled away to see tears run down her cheek.
"Oh darling, it breaks my heart to see you cry" I said, wiping her tears. She leant her face into my hand, shutting her eyes.
"I've just - this the most amazing thing someone's ever done for me"
Her POV //
He did all of this... for me. It was the most romantic thing ever.
His hands caressed my face, wiping away the tears, I've never had this before.
I don't know why but my instinct was to yeet us both in the pool, feeling the cold water crash against my skin.
I looked around to see Flynn laughing, "Don't tell me that was an instinct" he said between laughs.
I grinned, he understands me. We both propped our arms on the ledge, looking up at the moon.
"You really are Flynn Rider.. Eugene. You took me to see the lights" I smiled sheepishly.
He smiled at me, his eyes glistening. The fairy lights reflected within them, it truly looked like the lantern scene and I was falling...
"Hey, did you know that I used to have the biggest crush on you?" He spoke up making my jaw drop.
I did too, a massive one but was too scared to do anything about it.
He chuckled, nodding at me. "It was before you and Liam. You were and are the most beautiful girl I have ever laid eyes on. I thought you were hilarious, even when you didn't mean to be. So selfless and empathetic." He continued.
Oh my god. Tell him, you idiot.
"I liked you too, around that time. You made me laugh so much and always made sure that I was okay. fuck" I blurted, seeing him in shock this time.
He then moved wet hair from my face as he smiled.
"You're telling me that we liked each other at the same time?" He breathed out, looking into my eyes.
I nodded, exhaling the breath I didn't even realise I was holding. I could've been with him? This whole time we could've been?
"Time wasn't in our favour"
His hand caressed my face as we looked into each others eyes. He broke eye contact, looking up so I did the same, seeing our lantern float back.
"It came back" he smiled, letting it land on his hand.
We sent it back up, watching as it left.
"I really like you, darling. I wasn't gonna tell you, with everything going on I understand you may need time. I'm just not gonna make the same mistake of not telling you" he said, grabbing my attention.
I smiled at him, neither am I.
I traced my hand up to his jaw, holding it as his eyes flickered to my lips.
"I really like you, Flynn" I responded before colliding our lips against each other.
He smiled against the kiss, bringing me closer to him as his thumb swiped against my jaw.
