Party Invite

This whole week, work has been great. I've managed to do my job and avoid Elliot. Thankfully today I just had a class and a free day to myself. Tod, and I have gotten closer. He talks to me about everything.

He even went as far as to call me his best friend. It was nice having a friend, I needed one.

I loved my job, but I was so tired, it's crazy. Now I was walking to school, my head kind of hurts but I'm sure that once I finish this muffin Tod gifted me, I'll be better. It wasn't as cold today. Which means I'll pretty much have a good day.

I dumped the muffin's wrapper in the trash and entered the class. Brody has been asking me to go to a party for days now. I always deny him, because I know that wherever he is, Elliot is too.

I was tired and done with seeing her face.

As I sat down, he attacked me with the same question. "Can you come to the party?"

I shook my head, there is no thinking it through. My answer was a done deal, nothing can convince me. Nothing.

"Come on, there's gonna be good food. Like shrimp, and pizza, and mac and cheese. Food. Woman, what kind of girl doesn't go crazy for food? Are you even human?"

I snort. First of all, I loved food. And Mac and cheese, well let's just say that's my wife. "Fine. But, If there's no food, I'll kill you."

"Yes, ma'am." I glare at him. "Sorry, I keep forgetting you hate being called Ma'am."

I shrug. I start taking down notes. The professor passed out papers, and now we had to take notes on them, and if we don't get it done by the end of class, he'll know we weren't paying attention.

Elliot came in and sat down with Brody. "Guess what? I convinced Sadie to attend the party."

I don't know if I imagined it, but from where I sat, I heard Elliot growl. "Oh, great ma'am is coming." Brody snorts, but when he looks at me I glare at him and he stops smiling.

"She doesn't like being called that." He clears his throat.

Which was exactly why she said it.

When I got home, Brody texted me the address. And then Tod texted me telling me about the party and suggested we go together. I agreed and told him I'll meet him in front of the Cafe.

I had no idea what to wear, but I had an idea. My dad had bought me a dress, that I never bothered wearing because I never was a fan of wearing anything that exposed my legs. My friends considered me a tomboy, but I was not that good at sports. Well unless you consider running away from cops a sport, then yeah I'm good.

The dress was a Lavender couture Chiffon Puff Sleeve dress. It was beautiful, but I always felt sort of insecure about my body. I wasn't fat or anything, I just never liked the idea of exposing my bare skin. Which was why I wore sweaters, and long sleeve shirts, and whatnot.

As I put on my white slingback pump heels, the doorbell rang. I wasn't expecting anyone, did Tod decide he'd meet me here instead? But that wouldn't make sense, he didn't even know where I lived yet. Unless he knew where Elliot lived, which meant that just answered that.

But when I opened the door, it wasn't him, instead, it was someone I didn't expect to show up at my door: Elliot.

"Don-"

She cut herself off as she looked at me, and my dress. Her eyes scanned my body, I had to clear my throat to get her attention back up to my face. "What did you want?" I didn't care if I sounded harsh.
