Drunk Confession

That same night, I wake up to a knock at my door. It was hard, and loud, and annoying. I rubbed my eyes and walked out of my room, and up to my door.

As I opened it, I come face to face with Brody and an unconscious Elliot. I gasp at her face. She had a black eye, and a cut on her eyebrow and lip. Brody looks at me with worry and basically a cry for help.

I open my door further. "Come in." I turn on the lights and close my door. Brody sets Elliot down on my couch. "what happened?"

I crossed my arms and looked at Elliot's certain condition.

Brody looks at me. "She had a bar fight with some dude who was trying to drug a girl." My eyes open wide.

"Damn, I hope the other guy looks worse." Brody snorts.

"He did." He nods and looks down at his best friend. I walk over to Elliot and kneel next to her. She starts to wake up and groan, possibly in pain.

I look up at Brody. "Go to my bathroom down the hall to the right, in the cabinet under the sink, you'll see a HealthKit. Grab it for me." He nods and disappears down the hall.

I look at Elliot, who now had her hand to her head. She looks up at me and then looks at her surroundings. And then the weirdest thing happens, she starts laughing.

"She's drunk." I look over my should and see Brody holding out the HealthKit. I grab it. "I thought she'd be sober but I guess not."

I look back at Elliot. She smiles at us, then winces as she touches her lips.

"I got her, you can go home, I just don't understand why you didn't bring her to her place."

Brody raises his eyebrows, "I would, but his aunt's in the city, and she's the reason why she's been on her A-game with school."

I nod, putting the dots together. "So, you don't want her to see her like this." Brody nods.

"Exactly, so can she stay here tonight?" I nod.

"Yeah, of course." he nods.

"Thanks, you're a good friend Sadie." He backs out of the room and leaves my apartment. I get up to lock the door and return to the living room. I kneel and help Elliot into a sitting position.

"You're so pretty." She brushes my cheek with her thumb. I snort and push her hand away.

I open the HealthKit and grab alcohol patches, I grab her face and wipe away the blood from her scratches. She winces. I grab another patch and do the same again. "Sorry, but I have to clean your cuts, or they'll get infected."

She smiles. "I like you, you're different."

That makes me stop, and I put my arm down as I stare at her. "What?"

She leans forward, and I lean back. "I want you to be mine."

I blink, and I shake my head. "Um, I need to throw these away, I'm done." I stand up and grab the HealthKit and the used alcohol patches. I give her one last glance before I walk over to the bathroom, and put the HealthKit back. I toss the patches in the bathroom trash.

I stand in front of the mirror and put my hands on the corner of the sink. I stand there staring at myself. "Did I just imagine that, or is she just drunk?"

I heard that being drunk makes you tell the truth, but being drunk also makes you act dumb and whatnot, so I didn't know which one it was. But I just know that I needed some time to think about this. Some time to breathe.
