Gabe had left Ellie to sleep off the exhaustion she had accumulated over the past 24 hours.  Is that how long it had been? It seemed like forever ago she escaped.  Well, escaped the vamp building.  How she was going to get off the island she had no idea and if she could keep evading Dalton until she actually could find a way off.

Ellie’s first thought that morning was logical and she felt stupid for not thinking of it before.  A boat.  She could build a boat.  The outer rim of the island along the shore seemed to be less protected by charms so maybe just maybe, if she could incapacitate a vampire and put him on the boat, she would be able to leave.  But there’s the problem. How am I going to get hold of a vampire? And what happens when they wake up?  Ellie decided she would figure that out when it got it. Until then a boat was the go.

Still in her underwear, Ellie thanked Gabe for dropping off a nice giant shirt for her to wear.  It was left, folded on the end of the little bed.  It would keep her a little warmer and make their meeting a little less awkward.  Although she was sure they boys didn’t mind.  Gallen however, he seemed not of this world, too old, too full of knowledge.

Slipping on the shirt and wearing it like a dress, Ellie drank some water and grabbed a piece of bread before heading outside.  She intended to go exploring, not to far from the hut in fear of unwanted arrivals, then come back and clean up.

Eating her bread bum and walking through the under growth of the forest, Ellie started to memorize the location of the massive bamboo shoots that she would later use to build her boat.  Raft. Possibly unstable but life saving, floatation device. Haha, she thought, Comedy can always make light of a situation.

Stepping into a mud puddle and trying to wipe it off on some dead leaves, the most beautiful and intoxicating smell wafted through on the breeze.  The scent seemed unimaginable and it was like she had dreamt of something so beautiful in her dreams.  Following the smell, it got stronger the closer she got to the source.  Walking through one final branch she found it.  Lining the trees and the floor, a massive vine wound around everything, coaxing it with its heading perfume.  It was the black rose.  Like the one Dalton had.  A LOT of black roses, on a vine.  Which was weird because usually roses grew on a bush, but not here apparently.
