Chapter 14: Charming

AN/

So as promised I have updated – in Australia is it Sunday.  But im disappointed no one commented on my last chapter.  Comments make me happy, as they would any writer.  So please if you like my story and are a regular reader could you leave a comment just to give me a little hope that someone is actually reading??  Please and thank you =)  Plus I thought the last chapter was pretttty awesome.

Also: I have added an alternative view to the story so let me know what you think of that too.  Anyway moving on to the story….

She is gone.  How the hell did she get out? Apparently electric sparks shot from her hands.  HOW DID SHE ESCAPE??  Mother is not going to be happy.  Tanner always comes across as the good guy but here he is, chastising me for being too soft on the girl.  And he is right, I was too ‘forgiving’.  If it weren’t for her unchartered blood, I would have snapped her neck and drained her the first day she ever spoke, with that smart mouth of hers.

Now, more questions have arisen and the secret is not longer between just the royals. WHAT is she?  The guards know too and god knows they gossip like teen girls at a sleepover.  This is all going to crap.  I just know it…

Tanner’s voice rung loud where they stood in Dalton’s office.  Dalton had been ignoring him, lost in his own thoughts, “Look brother.  There are plenty of guards out looking and god knows she wont get past the werewolves or jungle animals,” he defended himself.

“Problem is,” Tanner growled, “We don’t want her dead, you idiot.  You got too invested and now look what happened!”

“It seems to me that you are more invested in her than I.  I don’t care if she gets torn to pieces out there,” but he knew it was a lie as soon as the words left his lips.  He cared, more than he wanted to admit.  “Plus, she can’t leave the island anyway.  How would she travel the miles of sea in-between here and Oxon?  She couldn’t.  Even if she is outside the spellbound barrier.”

“Where are Rebecca and Rachael?” Tanner changed subjects as he rubbed his forehead in annoyance.

Dalton responded with equal anger, “out searching the seas edge, the outskirts of the island for her.  You shouldn’t have sent them out.  Rebecca will kill her, without care for the consequences.”

It had gotten dark and Ellie had found shelter in the cave under the waterfall.  It was surprisingly dry and warm inside, very un-cave-like.  This was good considering it was best not to start a fire as the smoke would give away her resting place for the night.  The gushing sound of the water would hopefully mask any noise she made. However it was getting dark and she needed to do something about lighting up where she slept.

Ellie had been trying to figure out what happened earlier with her hands when she had burnt the guards with some type of spark.  That’s what she was calling it anyway.  Her sparks.  If she closed her eyes and tried really hard she could feel and recognize the same sensations that she felt before they had shot form her hands.  At one point, she had even gotten her hands to really heat up and they even glowed but no sparks yet.
