Guilias pov:
They were all eating lunch at the table, having pasta al pesto, Guilia's favourite.
Guilia swore there was something going on between those two. She saw the way they looked at each other. Anytime either of the boys were saying something, the other would be staring at him. At one point, she had to snap her fingers in front of Alberto's eyes, braking him away from his trance.
"Hey, earth to Alberto? Anyone home??" she said.
"W-what? Oh um yeah, sorry, got distracted." he said, stumbling on his words.
"U-huh." Guilia said, unconvinced.
"Oh my god wait get this Beto, Guilia likes someon-" Luca was stopped by Guilia smacking her hand over his mouth.
"AAAND THATS ENOUGH!" she yelled.
"WAITT WHAT?? You like someone?? Who??" Alberto gasped
"It's Isabe- mmmph!" Luca was muffled again.
"SHUT UP, LUCA! HE'LL TEASE ME FOREVER IF HE FINDS OUT." she exclaimed, removing her hand away from his mouth.
"ISABELLA" he shouted, before Guilia could stop him.
"Nooo!" Guilia said, sitting back down face palming.
"PAHA! YOUR FACE! IT MATCHES YOUR HAIR!" Alberto spluttered. Luca joined in, laughing.
After they had calmed down, Alberto said "So you like a girl, hm?"
"Uhm, yeah.." Guilia said, looking down.
"Hey hey! don't be like that! You're my sister no matter what, you know that right?"
Guilia went up at hugged hugged him tight "Thank you Alberto" she whispered.
He chuckled "Ok ok, stop before you crush my ribs."
Luca's pov:
Luca wanted to ask it so much. To get it out the way. So, after Guilia and him had hugged, he said it.
"S-so uh Alberto, any special girls in you've met?" he said as casually as he could.
"Uhm, no, not really.' There was a small pause 'I-I, uh, don't think I only like girls." he said, after a while, looking at Machiavelli.
Lucas head exploded. OH. MY GOD. YOU ACTUALLY HAVE A CHANCE.
He could feel his face heat up "Oh- that's- that's ok!" he said smiling, putting his hand on Alberto's shoulder.
Alberto looked up, his eyes shining. "Really?"
"Of course!"
Alberto smiled lightly
"Right then!' Guilia said, clapping her hands 'what do you guys want to do? I know you've been dying to go swimming Luca."
This was true. Luca hadn't been able to swim in salt water the entire time he was in Genova, he was desperate to go back in the ocean again. It was also partly because he wanted to see Alberto's scales again-
"Yes!! Let's go right now!" Alberto said, grabbing Luca's wrist, running out the door.
"Woah! Slow down Beto! You coming Guilia?" Luca called back.
"Sure, but I'll just sunbathe on the sand" she replied
*very short time skip*
*Aberto's pov:
Once they arrived at the beach, Luca pulled his shirt off and ran straight for the water diving in, and popping out, laughing. Alberto gasped, blushing hard. He forgot how beautiful Luca was in his sea monster form, his jade scales shimmering in the sun, Alberto had to resist from reaching out and touching them.
"Admiring your boyfriend, huh?" Guilia said, shaking her head, chuckling.
"W-what?! No I'm not! And he is NOT my boyfriend!"
Guilia laughed "That's the exact same thing he said." she muttered
"what..?" Alberto said quietly
"Alberto!! Come in the water!" he heard Luca call out.
Alberto laughed, ripping his top off and diving in. He swore he could see Luca's face go pink when he popped up back to the surface.
"H-have you been working out??" Luca said, staring at his chest.
"Uhm, sort of, working at the pisceria and stuff" he said, stcratching the back of his neck. "Wanna race?" he said
"Where to?"
"The island!"
"Yes!!"
"Ok' Alberto said 'go on the count of three, 1, 2-" He sped off, into the deep water
"HEY ALBERTO GET BACK HERE!! NO FAIR!" Luca shouted, racing towards him.
Once they reached the island, Alberto fell onto the sand, cackling.
"HAHA! YOUR FACE!"
"No- fair! You said- on the count of- three!" Luca gasped, collapsing on the sand.
"Not used to swimming again, huh?" Alberto said, propping himself up on his elbows.
"Not yet' Luca said. After a short pause he turned to Alberto, both of them in their human forms again. 'I'm so glad I'm back for good, Beto." he placed a hand on Alberto's shoulder.
"M-me too, Luca." he said, looking deep into Luca's eyes.
