After a shorter talk with her mother, Meg sat on her bed and gave me a blanket. She seemed really tired and she wanted to sleep, but I couldn't sleep. I was really frightened of what will happen next. I heard a voice in my head that called.

"Cateline! Come to me!"

"Meg?" I asked.

"Did you hear anything!?"

Meg yawned: "Hear what?"

"Okay..." I said.

"I am only frightened."

"And you can't sleep?" Meg asked sleepily. I nod. She told me: "Phantom will not harm you if he wants something from you..."

"What about Christine?" I whispered. "Phantom almost killed her fiance!"

"Look... If you are frightened, go and ask my mum what can we do." Meg said and then she fell asleep quickly. I left the room and I was still hearing the voice in my head. I was shaking and when Mme Giry saw me, she said:

"Cateline, what's wrong!?"

"I- I am f-frightened!" I whispered. "And I can't sleep...What can I do?"

"Go outside for a walk..." she proposed. "There are no ghosts!"

"It might be a good idea." I nod and Mme Giry added:

"You can take a coat at the doorman's. And here's some money for you... I didn't give it to you after the perforamnce."

I was walking in the streets and everything was quiet and dark, but I felt relief because I heard no voice in my head. I went to the Revolution Square, which was in lights and then I continued my way into one of the dark streets.

Suddenly, I heard a sound behind me and I saw a shadow of a persin, wearing a dark cloak, which was covering his place. I saw his face in the moonlight. A half of it was normal but there was a white mask on the other side of face. It was him, the phantom! "Where are you going, Cateline!?" he asked agrily. "And why did you run away!?"

"I-I o-only..." I gasped frightenly and then I started to run as fast as I could. I wanted to keep me save from the ghost that was following me

I didn't mind my step, so I bumped into a high man in a expensive coat and high black boots. He seemed really classy. "What's going on?" the man asked. I was breathing fast:

"He's trying to catch me!"

"Okay, okay!" he smiled. "I'll help you! Come with me!" When the ghost saw us, he ran away angrily.

"Thanks for saving me!" I thanked.

"For what!? I didn't have to fight with him or something like that!" the man grinned. "He just ran away when away when he see us!" I smiled.

"Why was he trying to catch you!?" he asked.

"Do you know the Phantom of the opera?" I asked.

"I've heard about him... Did he really burn the Populaire?" he said.

"Well... I ran out of his lair when he wasn't looking. Because I'm new here I am afraid, specially of him!" I told him.

"You are really brave!" the man gasped.
"Even Christine didn't do that! Nobody did that!" I blushed.

"I just wanted to save myself!"

"...Excuse me, what's your name, Mademoiselle?" he asked after a few moments.

"Cateline." I whispered. "And you?"

"I'm Etienne..." he answered.

"Hello, Monsieur Etienne!" I greeted him.

"Do you want to go to the cafe?" he asked. I nod:

"Yes, but I drink only tea..."

"Me too..." he smiled and we went to the nearest cafe in the city. Etienne held the door for me and let me go in first. He was such a gentleman! He ordered two teas and when we finished, he paid.

"Please," I said. "Can I pay for us?" He smiled:

"Nope... That's not nice from a gentleman."

"But we just met one hour before!" I said but he still didn't listened to me and he paid our tea anyway. He smiled when we left the cafe.

"I'll walk you home..." Etienne proposed and I said:

"You don't have to!"

"No, no! I'll really go with you!" he said.

"Populaire is far!" I told him. "You don't have to go with me..."

"Paris is dark at night. And what if the ghost will be catching you again!?" he asked with a smile on his face.

"Oh!" I gasped and we started to walk. We were talking.

"What brought you to Paris, Cateline?" Etienne asked.

"Well..." I said quietly. "Family..."

"Your family has moved here?" he asked. I said in sad voice:

"Not really... My parents just... They threw me out of house!"

"How could they?" he asked angrily.

"They were angry with me..." I whispered.

"How do you like Paris?" he changed the theme of talking. I smiled.

"It's lovely! Only the Phantom scares me!"

"I'll not let him harm you... Never!" Etienne added. He smiled and I blushed. "

"What do you like?" I ask him.

"What do you mean?" he said. I told him.

"We've only talked about me... What is your passion? Do you like operas?"

"Well, I like revolution. I'm a revolutionary but that's a secret! The state earl wanted to catch me and my friends because we are against him. He's really spoiled and stubborn!" Etienne explained. "And I'm not a real fan of music..."

"I promise I won't tell anyone!" I swore. "And why are you here?"

"I'm a student of law here... Are you a singer here? Or a ballet dancer? You like singing, I guess..." he asked.

"I just tried to sing and they said it's good... But I've never sang as a professional singer!" He smiled:

"I'd love to hear you sing!" We came to Populaire and Etienne asked hopefully:
"So, when can I see you again? Is tomorrow okay for you?"

"Tomorrow... I can't, my timetable is really full next week. We're working on a new opera and I have to learn all the lyrics and songs!" I told him.

"I'll find a way somehow!" Etienne said and kissed my hand. I smiled and entered the Populaire. It was early in the morning, around 5 am. I really liked Etienne, he looked so charming and polite!
