It is finally Wednesday, and that means today the captain selection was going to take place, in the house meeting.

I woke up from my deep slumber to the melodious notes of the Indian koel, while the sunlight graced my face gently, but with precision.

Well! Who am I kidding ?

I actually woke up to the sound of the irritating alarm on my phone, and tried to switch it off half asleep, while my bed hair was poking out here and there from my messed up ponytail. I had curly and frizzy hair which made it extremely difficult to harness, as I never used the straightners.

I groaned, quite unattractively might I add, and flipped my pillow to find the cold side and nuzzled my head into the fluffy heaven.

Much to my dismay, the piercing sound of the alarm shrilled through the morning air yet again. I suddenly remembered the fact, that I had set alarms for every five minutes. Don't judge me, everyone does that.

"Meoooowwwwww... Wake up or else you'll miss the bus," another ear-piercing voice of my fiery mother disrupted the make out session I was having with my pillow. I got up quickly, as I wasn't ready to face my mom's bilious temperament.

Yes! My mom calls me Meow. Weird term of endearment!

I ran to the bathroom, which was exactly three feet away from my bed. I brushed my teeth and had a quick shower. I wasn't a fan of showers and baths, but I couldn't go to school smelling like onions and yesterday's dinner. I came out from the bathroom and heard my parents counting down the time I had. Jeez! Who needs clocks, when you have such great parents?

I quickly wore my uniform, which would make the fashion police faint at sight. The skirt was checkered and had small blue and red checks, which looked like a tablecloth from some cheap restaurant. The button down shirt was white and reached my elbows. I swear that a blind person had designed our uniform. And if you think that this was awful, then wait for the next part. We had to braid our hair to make two plaits, and then we had to tie a black ribbon to it. What was the purpose of the ribbons? God only knows!

The outfit truly brought the sexiness in me!

Then I suddenly remembered that today was Wednesday, so I was supposed the wear the other uniform. I growled at my stupidity and quickly changed into a red T-Shirt and blue pants.

Oh my God! I was laatteeeeeeeeee...

I picked up my bag and ran to the kitchen. I grabbed the delicious looking paratha, which was resting alone on the huge mahogany dining table. I said my goodbyes to my parents, while wearing my shoes and socks and ran out the door towards the lift. I punched the buttons, the red display showed that the lift was on 4th floor. I am sure that the over flirty newspaper boy or the weird milkman had blocked the lift. Such assholes!

Way to start my morning!

I assaulted the button one more time and then finally started to run down the stairs while cursing my luck.

How could my bad luck be so terrible?

I reached the bottom of the stairs and did a little happy dance, but I still had to run for another half a mile. Why did my parents choose the biggest housing society to live? I lived in the 'C' wing and there were about 22 wings in my huge housing society. I sprinted in the heavenly cool morning air and smiled at some of the elderly people walking around. I finally reached the main gate of the society and spotted my white bus. The driver honked twice, signaling me to hurry the fuck up.
