Monday !

The dreaded day seemed more vying as the inter-house competition fever was in the air. I was informed by the house teachers, that this Saturday, english story telling competition would take place. I was assigned the task of choosing the four candidates.

And I thought that being a vice captain was easy !

I went from class to class with Monica, like Sean Anderson in search of the Mysterious Island,in search of a worthy candidate.

After the thrilling episode of choosing candidates and walking around the school for 45 minutes, we found three students who were willing to take part in this boring event. I have nothing against story telling, but this competition gives me the feels of kindergarten.

We searched to our west and east, high and low, but couldn't find the fourth candidate. Dejectedly I walked towards the staff room to tell this to our house teacher.

"May I come in ?" I said when I reached the door.

Suddenly the five teachers sitting around the long brown table looked at me, gave me a small smile and continued doing what they were.

"Come in, come in Rhea," finally Ms. Joshi said with a smile on her wrinkled face.

Monica stood near the door while I went inside and said, " Ma'am, three students were willing to take part in the competition, but we couldn't find a fourth candidate."

Joshi ma'am put her pen down and entangled her fingers and looked at me," Rhea, will you go and tell Hrihan about this ? Tell him to find the fourth candidate. You have already done too much," she said and gave me a warm smile, but even that smile couldn't stop me from feeling the sudden rush of heat in my body.

I realised that I had zoned out when Ms Joshi said, "Are you okay Rhea? Do you need some water?" She was genuinely concerned about my sudden behaviour, so was I.

"No no! I am fine," I said, but was I really fine ? Had Hrihan hypontised me or something ?

Ms. Joshi nodded and gave me another smile before I excused myself and went to the corridor to find that Monica was gone. She probably went back to the class, I thought.

So many thoughts were running in my mind currently. My thoughts had become the perfect mixture of lemony salad, oranges, honey, burgers, french fries topped with some icecream. Individually these things sound good, but mix them up and what do you get ?

One word - Gross.

That's what I was currently feeling. I met the guy not less than 24 hours ago and I look what happened to me. I had decided to stay away from him at all costs, but somehow my God- Einstein, was against it.

Yes ! I am an atheist, but for moral support and encouragement I picture Einstein and Netwon as my God.

What can I say, I am in love with physics.

Speaking of the devil, I saw Hrihan standing in front of his class with his hands inside his pocket and I could even see a small smirk on his playful lips.

Thank you, Lord Einstein!

I said in my thoughts.

I was sure that my first conversation with this handsome fellow, was going to be an utter embarrassment to my sweet self.

"Hrihaaaannnnn..." I screamed and he turned towards me and flashed me his trademark smirk and the little sense left in me swooshed away.

"Nnaaaaaa," I continued and the puzzled look on his face made me realise what I had just done.

Hrihan + ana = Hrihana = Rihanna

Oh My Newton !

I am so dopey !

He slowly walked towards me and each and every step he took was just as anticipating and exhilarating as the landing of curiosity rover on mars was.

"It's Hrihan, not Hrihanaa," he said and playfully shook his gorgeous head.

I mentally punched my face for screwing up his name and said, "I am really sorry. I know that it's Hrihan, but it just slipped out of my silly little mouth. I don't know what I was thinking and how could a guy have a name as Hrihanaa. I am just really sorryyy..."

I was rambling on and he blankly stared at me and cut me short and said, "It's okay...Chill out now. So why did you call me?"

"Ummm...mm...mm I...er...wanted...to...ask...you...if." There you go, I was stammering again.

"Yah?" he gave me a puzzled look.

"Would you like to take part in the story telling competition?" I said without further embarrassing myself.

He gave me a weird look as if I had just asked him to marry me.

"Me? Competition...Kidding me?" he laughed mockingly.

Oh! That perfect laugh echoed in my ears and was currently on repeat mode in my mind.

"Your English is perfect. I mean it's good and all, so what's the deal?" I asked him.

"No! That's my answer. Now bye," he said with an authoritative tone and walked away without even hearing me out.

I called out his name again, but he pretended to shut his ear and then waved to say goodbye.

Our first conversation and it went so great. He was a pompous and audacious guy, and I mentally noted that down.

I went back to my class, giving a pause to my train of thoughts, when I realised that it was lunch time. I yelled from the door of the classroom to tell Monica to get my lunch box. I then ran and sat under the tree.

I was alone under the huge tree. I brought my knees towards my chest and rested my head on top of it. I glanced towards the gate opening to the ground and that's when I spotted Hrihan and his badass group walking towards the ground.

"Whom were you staring at?" Sia probed me with confusion plastered on her forehead.

"Don't tell me that you have a thing for those boys," she continued and bluntly pointed towards Hrihan and his group.

"Uhhh ! No Sia...not at all," I squealed loudly, gaining some stares from the people around.

"That's better!" she said, "Stay away! They are trouble." And then she turned towards Monica and started talking about the last night's episode of Supernatural.

What did she mean by bad?

She shared the same class with him during Hindi, so she might know a thing or two about him.

But why do I care? It's not like I like him.

Hell! I don't even know him, except for his name.

Hrihanaa ... I remembered the incident and giggled to myself.

"The days when I lock myself,

My heart and my soul,

The days when I feel like I need someone,

But to my dismay, no one's there,

Even the strongest of strong needs someone,

To hold their hand,

And to tell them that everything will be okay,

When will I find my someone?

I need someone,

I need someone to hold and my hand,

And to fix my heart and my soul,

I really need someone..."
